Let the kids cool off in the slides, wave pools and whirlpools of Acua Waterpark near Corralejo. They can dry off while practising their swing at the park's 18-hole mini-golf course, just one of the many things for kids to do in Fuerteventura. Hop on the free bus from Costa Calma and enter the exotic world of Oasis Park, one of the biggest attractions in Fuerteventura. Kids can see thousands of animals and birds from all around the world.

Drive inland from the coast through the hilly dunes of the Parque Natural de las Dunas in Corralejo, and you’ll soon discover why it’s one of the most spectacular places to visit in Fuerteventura. You’ll think you’re in the Sahara rather than at one of the most extraordinary attractions in Fuerteventura. Volcanic peaks rise from the centre of the island in the Parque Natural de Betancuria, giving this stark landscape a lunar feel. On the eastern side are the strange and dramatic limestone caves of Ajuy, which pirates used to use as hiding places centuries ago.

Endless stretches of white sands grip the shores of the island, giving beach lovers plenty of things to do in Fuerteventura. Costa Calma’s Playa Barca is one of the most popular beaches on the Jandía peninsula, and one of the best places in Fuerteventura for some serious windsurfing. The dunes of Corralejo are among the main attractions in Fuerteventura; vast, practically untouched expanses of pure golden sand. Take a slow drive through mountain tracks to find the remote beach near Cofete; a windswept, wild place of crashing waves and hardly a soul for miles.
