James Van Der Beek and his Dawson's Creek TV mom Mary-Margaret Humes share sweet photo of happy reunion

She and her TV husband were 'blindsided and hurt' that they weren't invited to a Dawson's Creek 20th anniversary photo shoot assembled by Entertainment Weekly in March 2018.

But on Wednesday Mary-Margaret Humes put that all aside and had a happy reunion with her TV son James Van Der Beek, and the 41-year old actor shared an adorable photo of their meeting on Instagram.

'#tbt Real-life coffee with my TV Momma. @thereal_marymargarethumes #RealTimeTBT #dawsonscreek,' Van Der Beek wrote in the caption.

Humes, 64, reposted the pic on her Instagram and wrote, 'The smile on my face...#authentic. The love in my heart for this amazing soul...#unconditional.'

She added, 'This was today’s coffee date with “my tv son”...the very handsome and talented @vanderjames #nofilter #nomakeup #noworries a true #dawsonscreek moment...in real time #loveneverdies.'

Both Van Der Beek and Humes are all smiles as they hugged and mugged for the camera, which comes 15-years after the final episode of Dawson's Creek.

The photo also comes about five months after Humes and her TV husband John Wesley Shipp were not asked to attend Entertainment Weekly's 20th anniversary photo shoot.

Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, Mary Beth Peil, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps were all on hand for the reunion.

'Okay, so let me get this off my chest as the initial hurt has subsided just a bit,' Humes wrote on her Instagram on March 29.

'This was their choice...not ours...it was done behind our backs and we both were literally blindsided by it when we woke up yesterday in NYC and LA...we both did a short telephone interview after the fact but were never told about the reunion...Such a shame.'

But from the looks of that new heartwarming photo, it appears there are no hard feeling and much love between the TV family.

Humes played Dawson Leery's mother Gail on the hit show for six seasons (1998-2003). She has since gone on guest star on a slew of television series that includes CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds and Saving Grace.

Van Der Beek has also had plenty of success post Dawson's Creek, with starring roles in Mercy, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, CSI: Cyber and Pose.
