Due to Mrs. Ayers’ strong trial advocacy skills, she consistently positions her clients for successful civil litigation outcomes. Mrs. Ayers boasts a track record of court victories and settlements.
Mrs. Ayers has been a member of the California Bar since 2002 upon graduating from UC Hastings Law School in 2002. Mrs. Ayers was also admitted to the Florida Bar in 2004.
Mrs. Ayers primary areas of practice include real estate law, corporate law, business litigation, bankruptcy and civil litigation. Susan Z. Ayers, Esq. started Ayers Law Firm in 2009. Mrs. Ayers worked as In-House Counsel for La Jolla Development Group as well. She represented Lake San Marcos Country Club, Escondido Country Club, Stone Ridge Country Club and the Lake San Marcos Executive Course. In that capacity, she deepened her experience in the areas of employment law, contract law, collection litigation, unlawful detainers, business litigation, environmental law matters and a multitude of other real estate and corporate law related issues. Mrs. Ayers also represented the owner in litigation related to a number of commercial properties and strip malls.
Prior to joining La Jolla Development Group, Mrs. Ayers was an Associate at Pavese Law Firm and Becker & Poliakoff where she worked in the area of real estate law, business litigation and corporate law. In those capacities, Mrs. Ayers represented condominium, homeowner associations, golf courses, country clubs, commercial property owners, and developers.
Mrs. Ayers has a California and Florida Real Estate broker’s license. Mrs. Ayers also served as a Senior Attorney for the State of Florida where she gained extensive litigation experience. In particular, Mrs. Ayers worked on behalf of Florida’s Department of Children and Families where she handled dependency cases including Termination of Parent rights cases. Mrs. Ayers also worked on behalf of the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel. In that capacity, Mrs. Ayers defended parents faced with removal of their children by Florida’s Department of Children and Families. Besides civil dependency work, Mrs. Ayers also handled defense of juvenile delinquency, misdemeanors and felony cases. Mrs. Ayers gained extensive courtroom and litigation experience through these endeavors. Her experiences with Florida Department of Children and Families has given her a strong foundation for the family law matters she has handled. Mrs. Ayers has realized successful outcomes through settlement and trial in divorce matters she has handled.
Mrs. Ayers completed a Bachelors of Science from Northwestern University with a double major in Economics and Communication Studies and earning a certificate in Business Institutions. After completing her undergraduate, Mrs. Ayers worked as a Contract Analyst at Cubic Defense Systems and then as a Business Analyst at San Diego Gas & Electric. During that time, Mrs. Ayers completed her MSBA at night at San Diego State University with highest honors. Mrs. Ayers then went on to UC Hastings College of the Law. During law school Mrs. Ayers worked in the Tax Legal division of PriceWaterhouse Coopers and completed an externship for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert W. Alberts of the US Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, Santa Ana Division.
