A team effort! Michelle Obama tries to keep a low profile in a cap and hoodie as she enjoys a workout in Mallorca - but the former first lady's VERY heavy security detail gives her away

  • Michelle, 54, was spotted in Mallorca, Spain, on Wednesday
  • She broke a sweat as she went on a hike with her entourage in the mountains
  • The former first lady shielded her face behind a pair of sunglasses and cut a low profile in a baseball hat, which she wore under the hood of a sleeveless sweater

  • She took the same trip last summer around the same time and was spotted around the island in September last year

The former first lady, 54, was spotted on Wednesday breaking a sweat while out on a hike in the mountains, as she enjoyed a stay on the island as the guest of former Ambassador James Costos and his partner Michael Smith.

Michelle also wore a baseball hat and a sleeveless sweater with a hood, which she pulled over her head for additional discretion.

The former first lady paired her loose gray top with black leggings and sneakers.

She made sure to stay hydrated as temperatures in Mallorca reached the eighties, carrying a bottle of water in her left hand.

Michelle was accompanied by a large entourage during the hike, with as many as nine people surrounding her at one point.

Several of them appeared to be members of her security team, and one is believed to be an aide who tagged along during Michelle's trip to Mallorca last year.

Two members of Michelle's entourage appeared to be wearing fanny packs that actually serve as gun holsters, which are sometimes used to carry weapons while concealing them.

Both Michelle and her husband will have a Secret Service detail for the rest of their lives, Barack having restored lifetime protection for former presidents in 2013.

Costos and Smith are longtime friends of the Obamas, and have previously hosted the family several times at their residence in Palm Springs, California.

Barack and Michelle jetted off to the glamorous home after Donald Trump's inauguration in January of 2017.

Smith, a designer, previously redecorated the Oval Office and the Obamas' private quarters during their time at the White House.

Later on, he was moved to welcome the first family into his house.

'When they were here, it occurred to me that more than 50 years ago JFK had stayed just down the road at Bing Crosby's home,' Smith told Architectural Digest in 2015.

'The President and Mrs. Obama basically woke up in the morning to the same view of the valley. There was something lovely about that thought.

'It made me contemplate all the change that has taken place in those decades, contrasting with the timelessness of this beautiful desert landscape.'
