And Emma Stone dazzled as she walked the red carpet ahead of the screening of her new flick The Favourite at the 75th Venice Film Festival on Thursday- joining stars including Olivia Colman, Joe Alwyn and Nicholas Hoult.

The La La Land actress, 29, put on a daring display in a semi-sheer and sequin-embroidered blush pink gown, which featured a perilously soaring split that revealed her toned legs.

The intricately-decorated gown featured a nude playsuit, with silver sequin-encrusted tulle fabric forming the sleeves and floor-length skirt.

A generous glimpse of the radiant redhead's decolletage was also given thanks to the garment's plunging neckline.

Adding height to her look she slipped on silver sandals while she sported body cosmetic ALLEVEN Colour Shield across her limbs.

Her fiery tresses were styled in soft waves, parted on the side, while her pretty features were enhanced with metallic shadow, liquid liner, rose blush and a fuschia lipstick.

The Favourite is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and is 'a bawdy, acerbic tale of royal intrigue, passion, envy and betrayal' set in the court of Queen Anne in early 18th century England, according to Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Olivia Colman stars as Queen Anne, Rachel Weisz as her adviser and lover Sarah Churchilll, while Emma is Sarah's younger cousin Abigail, who turns the relationship between Anne and Sarah upside-down.

With Anne more concerned about tending to her flocks of ducks rather than governing the country, Sarah the Duchess of Marlborough steps in to take over the political work.

The eight-week shoot took place last year in various locations in southern England including Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, a country mansion that has been the backdrop for features including My Week With Marilyn and Sherlock Holmes.

The Favourite - which also stars Nicholas Hoult, Olivia Coleman and Joe Alwyn - is released in US cinemas on November 23 and hits UK screens on January 1, 2019.

The Favourite will have to impress this year's jury panel, the president of which is director, Guillermo Del Toro. The jury consists of Christoph Waltz, Taika Waititi, Malgorzata Szumowska, Trine Dyrholm, Nicole Garcia, Sylvia Chang and Paolo Genovese.

Naomi Watts was also appointed a juror on the panel, which consists of five women and four men in an effort to readdress the imbalance that has occurred in previous years.

Naomi said she hopes the experience will be 'life altering', gushing: 'To sit in a disciplined way and spend the next 10 days watching two to three films a day is extraordinary and I have just never had that opportunity.

'And to be amongst this group of people on this panel and with Guillermo leading it, I think it's going to be a really unique and really new experience.'

On September 8, the final day of the festival, Del Toro's jury will be tasked with handing out the Golden Lion for Best Film, the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, Silver Lion for Best Director, Coppa Volpi for Best Actor, Coppa Volpi for Best Actress, Award for Best Screenplay, the Special Jury Prize and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor or Actress.

Meanwhile, Claire Foy and Ryan Gosling opened the star-studded film showcase with their Neil Armstrong biopic First Man, which has already been tipped for awards glory as it tells the tale of the iconic 1969 moon landing.

In First Man Claire plays Neil Armstrong's first wife Janet Shearon who acts as a pillar of support for the spaceman ahead of the Apollo 11 mission, which is famously known as the moment man first set foot on the moon.

It proved a triumphant evening for the film as it reportedly received a three-minute standing ovation upon conclusion, and many critics have offered the film glowing reviews.

It was re-teaming of sorts for director Damien and star Ryan, who also worked on the music La La Land, which was mistakenly named as the winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2017.

Several other pictures set to make their debut at the festival over the next ten days are the remakes of A Star Of Born and Suspiria, the former of which will have it's premiere on Friday August 31.

Tipped for awards glory, the film stars Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper who also directs, in a tale that was previously performed by legends Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland.
