The DJ who is expecting twins in the autumn with his wife Natasha Shishmanian, revealed he will broadcast his last show in December. And just over an hour and a half later it emerged that he will be rejoining Virgin Radio to host the breakfast show. Evans, pictured leaving Radio 2 today (main) told listeners live in air that he was going to start a 'brand new adventure' saying: 'The twins are on their way.' After his shock announcement at just after 8.10am, devastated fans took to social media to say they were 'close to tears.' He told how he has 'loved every minute' working on the flagship show for the last eight years but has now revealed he is going back to his 'spiritual home.' Sir Richard Branson said in a tweet (inset): 'Very excited to have my friend @chrisevans - one of the world's greatest radio presenters - back hosting our flagship breakfast show on @virginradiouk'

The parents of Alfie Evans have proudly shown off their new baby boy which was born four months after their brain-damaged son died from a rare genetic disorder. Tom Evans and Kate James appeared on This Morning to reveal their son Thomas for the first time since he was born early last month. The pair also revealed that they have finally been told of the condition which killed Alfie (inset), and that it was a genetic disorder that had a one in four chance of passing on to future children. Following Thomas' birth, the parents faced an 'agonising' four-day wait to see if their new son had the same condition, before tests came back negative. Speaking to This Morning co-hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Kate admitted that she was scared about 'resenting' the newborn baby before his birth.

David and Victoria Beckham put an end to split rumours while enjoying a family day on-board Sir Elton John's luxury yacht in the South of France on Saturday. The couple could be seen looking very loved up, (main), before David, 43, lavished kissed upon his wife, 44, (inset). Serial killer Dennis Rader (left and top right dressed as one of his victims) revealed what drove him to murder his 10 victims as he opened up about his brutal crimes and childhood in a previously unheard interview recorded soon after he confessed 13 years ago. Rader, now 73, murdered 10 people, including two children, in Wichita, Kansas over a 17-year stretch between 1974 to 1991. The killer, who called himself BTK for 'bind, torture and kill', was arrested in 2005 and is currently serving 10 consecutive life sentences at a Kansas prison. Rader is now the subject of a new Oxygen documentary titled ' Snapped: Notorious BTK Serial Killer ', which includes the never-before-heard interview he gave to a local television reporter after he confessed to the murders.

Abdul Mobin D, who claimed to be from Afghanistan, stabbed ex-girlfriend Mia V, 15, outside a chemist in Kandel, west Germany, after broke up with him. He had stalked and harassed her before the killing. He claimed to be 15 at the time of the crime but an expert estimated his age as between 17 and a half and 20. The case has been seized upon by the far-right in its campaign against migrants and comes as German police reveal that migrant murder suspects rose by a third last year.

Fishermen found the dilapidated cargo vessel, named 'Sam Ratulangi PB 1600', floating some 6.5miles from land in the Gulf of Martaban, last week with no crew on board. Data showed that its last logged journey was undertaken in June 2009. However Myanmar authorities soon discovered that the ship had been on its way from Jakarta, Indonesia, to a ship-breaking factory in Bangladesh, and bad weather had forced the crew on the tug-boat to abandon it at sea.

The PM's spokesman hit out after the former foreign secretary jibed that she was flying the 'white flag' in the standoff with the EU. Dakota Johnson looked uncomfortable while at a photocall for new movie Suspiria on Saturday.  The 28-year-old looked down and pulled a face as the movie's director,  Luca Guadagnino's hand was placed a little too near to her breast.  There is nothing to suggest that this was intentional - and the placement could appear worse due to the camera angle. 

She had been trapped in her own drive in Gauteng, South Africa by the robbers' car which followed her through her gate and parked behind her before three men jumped out to rob her. The grandmother then pulls forward and tries unsuccessfully twice to get her Jeep into reverse gear as the shocked gunmen jump into their getaway car before she finds the right gear. She then rams the getaway car and driving over the rear wing of the car before the hijackers reverse off up the road and escape while the granny returns home triumphant..

Her father Fred West (pictured right and inset), helped by wife Rose, murdered at least ten young women - including one of their daughters - many entombed in the cellar. In a searing interview in the Mail on Saturday, Mae revealed how she managed to escape her past. They were brought before an Islamic court and admitted to breaking a sharia law that forbids sexual relations between women and sentenced to six strokes of the cane each and fined 3,300 ringgit (£620).

A thrilled Ant McPartlin (centre) has visited Declan Donnelly today following the birth of his presenting partner's first child with wife Ali Astall (pictured together right) on Saturday morning. The troubled star, in the midst of an extended hiatus from TV following his latest stint in rehab, is said to be 'obsessed' with the couple's newborn daughter, Isla Elizabeth Anne. Donnelly, 42, originally broke the news by posted a picture of the baby's hand delicately wrapped around his finger on his and sidekick McPartlin's Instagram account (top left). He wrote: 'Ali and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our baby girl, Isla Elizabeth Anne, who was born just after 9 o'clock this morning. Mother and daughter both doing well, Dad is head over heels! D x'. McPartlin wrote on Twitter (inset): 'Welcome to the world, baby Isla Elizabeth Anne. Can't wait for cuddles. I love you already! Uncle Ant xxxxx'. 

Opulence was pitted against fire and flesh last night in the battle of the Sunday TV drama. ITV's lavish adaptation of Vanity Fair  competed for viewers in a head-to-head with the BBC's Bodyguard. The Napoleonic-era series features flirtatious social climber Becky Sharp played by Olivia Cooke (bottom), while the BBC's high octane political thriller stars Keeley Hawes (top) as a headstrong Home Secretary targeted by assassins. Bodyguard drew 6.5million viewers for its second adrenaline-fuelled episode but yesterday's first instalment of Vanity Fair may have dented audience figures for the third - as both shows went out at 9pm. Hoping to see off the competition, Bodyguard ramped up the drama last night. Scottish heartthrob Richard Madden, who plays David Budd, protection officer to the Home Secretary, bared his behind while sneaking out of bed to snoop on his boss.

Carol Vorderman, 57, has revealed how she transformed her appearance in midlife and shares her eight tips for dating. She says she has no plans to settle down as she prepares to front a new ITV programme on dating for the over-50s. Carol, who was marred for ten years to Paddy King (pictured together inset top in 1999), last had a serious relationship two years ago with Red Arrows pilot Graham Duff (inset bottom in 2013).

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane has been pictured cleaning the toilets and wudhu area of a mosque just hours after scoring in his side's Premier League win over Leicester. Mane fired home the first goal in Liverpool's 2-1 win over the Foxes at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Footage has now emerged of him helping to clean the mosque and it has gone viral on social media, gaining 9,000 retweets and 18,000 likes on Twitter.

Danu Stratton-Kent, 40, (left in her camper van) from Exeter, Devon, decided to rebuild her life following the end of her two and a half year relationship, packing up her flat to live in a converted minibus (bottom left, and inside, top right and bottom right). She now only has a handful of possessions which she takes with her on the road in the south west of the country, holding down a regular job and saving money by housesitting - and claims she's never been happier.

The Carnival Corporation has christened its biggest ship to date, with the giant vessel able to accommodate up to 6,600 passengers. The firm's AIDA Cruise brand has named its new liner the AIDAnova and a big party to celebrate the occasion was held on Friday night at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The colossal vessel measures 1,106 feet long and boasts 20 decks, 17 restaurants, 23 bars, a casino, rock climbing walls, a water park, mini golfing green, a state-of-the-art gym and spa.

Photographer Emmanuel Rondeau, France, captured this tiger in central Bhutan - a photo which made him a contender in the the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Mr Rondeau set up cameras along one route, in the hope of glimpsing a tiger pass by. After 23 days, he hit the jackpot. Other photos highly commended in the annual competition include feeding walruses (bottom left) and a yellow pygmy goby fish guarding its home (bottom right).

The wife of King Philippe was spotted waving off Prince Gabriel, 15, and ten-year-old Princess Eléonore at the gates of Sint-Jan-Berchmanscollege in Brussels on Monday. Her eldest son is starting on the fourth year of secondary school, while Eleonore is in the fifth year of primary school. It came as Princess Elisabeth - the youngest of the royal couple's four children -  travelled to the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales to study at a private sixth form college (right).

An Australian Instagram model was reportedly on the last day of her job working on a billionaire's superyacht in Greece when she was found dead at the back of the boat. Sinead McNamara (pictured), 20, was found unconscious and tangled in rope at the back of the Queen Mayan IV (inset) - a $190million yacht owned by Mexican billionaire Alberto Bailleres. According to Greek authorities, initial indications suggest the bikini model may have taken her own life. It has also reportedly been revealed that Ms McNamara, from New South Wales, was working her final shift on-board the enormous 93-metre long superyacht. The model was also just hours away from reuniting with her mother and older sister, who were mid-air on their way to Greece to see Ms McNamara at the time she died.

Kyxz Mendoza from Quezon City, Philippines, started work six years ago on his incredible flying car which took to the air for the very first time earlier this month in a successful test flight. Kyxz calles his flying car the 'Ultralight Aircraft' and he now plans to mass produce it with a two-seater version added to to the range. The aircraft has a metal frame with a carbon fibre shell and resembles the structure of a drone, only bigger. It is powered by batteries which need two-and-a-half hours of charging time. It can then fly for 12 to 15 minutes.

The 35-year-old actor (left and inset in the film) swaps his usual clean-shaven look for Manson's long mane and dishevelled beard in the drama, which follows the story of the three young women who were imprisoned for their parts in the infamous Manson murder case. Stills from the upcoming flick show the one-time Doctor Who leading his commune which slaughtered seven strangers including rising Hollywood actress Sharon Tate in August 1969. The story focuses less on Manson (right in 1970) and more on the three women, Susan Atkins, Lesley Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel, who were sentenced to death.

Gary Blackburn, 54, from Nottinghamshire, must pack up his Little Britain museum outside his home in Kretzhaus near Bonn, after it was discovered that he did not apply for the proper permits. The local authority found that he fell afoul of building regulations after a number of complains from his neighbours sparked an investigation into his Little Britain museum, which boasts a a 52-ton tank, a life-sized model of the Queen and Union Flag cows.

The footage, captured by Andy Williams, shows the bear use a tree as a scratching post in British Columbia, Canada. It demonstrates moves reminiscent of the Jungle Book's Baloo - dragging its back along the bark to reach a faraway itch (pictured). Bear sightings are common in British Columbia, with grizzly bears, black bears, and rare Kermode or 'Spirit' bears sharing land with the locals.

The Flying Lions aerobatic team sent flurries of water behind them during the water skiing stunt as part of the Race for Rhinos 2018 festival held in Sua Pan, Botswana. In 2006, the team first performed their water-skiing stunt with their aircraft in the Klipdrift Dam near Johannesbury. The pilots flew low over the dam and reduced their altitude until their aircraft's wheels were about four millimetres into the water, the deepest they could safely go. The stunt was later approved by the South African Aviation Authority and has been recreated ever since. The team consists of renowned pilots Scully Levin, Arnie Meneghelli, Ellis Levin and Sean Thackwray, and has been in operation for almost 20 years.

The man noticed the impala was unable to stand and follow its herd which moved on in Kruger national park in South Africa. He then drives up to the wild animal and pulls it out of the water. The helpless impala had desperately tried to get out of the water but continued to fall in. The man crouched down and swiftly pulled the impala out by its antlers which did not even flinch in his presence. After a successful rescue, the animal rested on the ground before struggling to get up. It soon left the scene and walked off its limp legs which had been stuck for some time.

Grace and James Slattery, of Co. Limerick, Ireland, struggled with fertility issues before conceiving quadruplets without IVF. The couple were offered an abortion for two of their babies because they were deemed 'high risk' but decided to let 'fate decide' and welcomed Amelia, Lily-Grace, Mollie and Lucas in May 2014 (inset, as newborns).
