FULL LIST: 28 state officials endorse Marco Rubio for president

Twenty-eight Arkansas elected officials endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for president during a news conference Tuesday at the state Capitol.

Many of those endorsing Rubio, a group which included Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin and U.S. Reps. Rick Crawford and Steve Womack, had previously supported former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee before he suspended his campaign Feb. 1.

"I believe deeply that Marco Rubio has the vision for America that best articulates the conservative principles of the Republican Party," said Arkansas House of Representatives Majority Leader Ken Bragg, R-Sheridan. "Most of all, I think Rubio has the appeal across the broad spectrum of the populace that will bring our party together and our country together."

State Senate Majority Leader Jim Hendren, R-Gravette, praised Rubio's commitment to national security and military strength.

"There is no greater time that it has been so imperative that we elect a president who understands foreign policy and how to deal with the threats that we face," he said.

Rubio's state chairman, state Sen. Bart Hester, R-Cave Springs, concluded the news conference by saying he was confident the senator would visit before the primary and that Arkansans could expect to see him "very soon."

"His message of family and faith is going to do very, very well here in Arkansas," Hester said.

Rubio is an Obama clone. And bought and paid for by the same Wall Street groups that financed Obama, Clinton and Cruz. The Wall Street Journal has reported extensively on the financing of his campaign. These guys might be cut out of the same mold because birds of a feather stick together. They are not paying any attention to what people are saying because it might cost them campaign contributions. This is the same type of corruption and stupidity that costs the Democrats control in Arkansas. Blindly supporting candidates that are obviously paid for by special interests. These are the same guys that let Whirlpool ship 5000 Arkansas jobs to Mexico and spend tons of money on sport structure but let UAMS structures go to pot. And they cannot for the life of them, get an upgrade on I-40 between LR and Memphis. In a word, a bunch of knuckleheads. What dunces.

"Senate President Jonathan Dismang"? Isn't the more accurate title "President Pro Tem"? The Arkansas Constitution is unclear, mainly because the Senate originally appointed its own president only to be replaced with the Lieutenant Governor by a later amendment; even that amendment uses "President of the Senate" twice in the same section for different purposes (once for the Lieutenant Governor, then again for the pro tem). However, later amendments & statutes generally refer to the appointed senator as "President Pro Tempore of the Senate", consistent with both the U.S. Constitution (though it renders the Latin "pro tempore" in all lowercase, and in some texts in italics) and the senator's actual role.

Marco Rubio is the Democrats worst nightmare. Young, energetic, exotic, dedicated family man, handsome, and not a privileged old white person. Would it be wrong to say he's Barack Obama 2008 with an "R" beside his name?
