Biographical

C. Scot Giles is a member of the Advisory Board of the National Guild of Hypnotists and is the Legislative Liaison to our AFL-CIO NFH 104, our Governmental Concerns organization. He has overseen the legislation program of the Guild for 26 years. He holds the highest level of Board Certification offered by the Guild, the rank of Diplomate and is a member of the Order of Braid. He has won most of the awards offered by the Guild including the North Award, the Guild's highest honor. His practice in the Chicago area is a specialty practice in complementary medical hypnotism and he works with several hospitals and wellness centers. He is also the author of the Complementary Medical Hypnotism Certification program of the Guild.

I specialize in working with more difficult cases, and I wrote the curriculum used by the National Guild of Hypnotists to train practitioners to do complementary medical work. At my practice in Wheaton, Illinois, I seek to make my work helpful for a wide range of issues, with a special interest in issues related to health and well-being. While neither a physician nor psychotherapist, my expertise is in helping people make their own right decisions and get in touch with their own healing power.
I have a lifelong interest in hypnotism starting when I was about ten years old. That interest continued and extended as my education went forward. Along the way I studied with some of the foremost hypnotic practitioners in the world, and rose in rank and certification in the Guild. I have held a seat on the Advisory Board of the Guild for many years.

I specialize in helping with medical issues. I am known internationally for my work in cancer care and direct the first medically approved, hospital based program in America for hypnotic work with cancer patients to improve medical condition and build resilience. I also have experience in working with functional bowel disorders, including issues related to Irritable Bowel Diseases, Crohn’s Disease and Colitis.
Consistent with my philosophy of working with health related issues I also provide weight control services.
