Mountain House stuff is the best I have found in emergency and long-storage foods. I had never tried these and was afraid they would taste like cardboard - but was pleasantly surprised. The flavor reminds me of town house crackers. They are like thick round crackers but not salty. In fact, they have a slight sweet taste but it's barely noticable. Good with deviled ham, cheese, butter, peanut butter, jelly, etc. They go well with most meals, IMHO, but I prefer something salty with some dishes, like chili. Excellent addition to emergency foods.

Big, wholesome crackers. They're tasty. You get quite a few and they last a VERY long time unopened. 50 calories per cracker in case anyone is curious and they are, I think, 60+ in each tin.

Husband was reading the Master and Commander series books and was looking for some hardtack. The are much better than hardtack and have an incredible life span. That is if you don't open them and eat them up quickly.

Seriously, good tasting product. Much like an MRE cracker but not as hard and has a better flavor. My only complaint is that it is a $20 tin of crackers but I suppose you are paying as much for the packaging as for the crackers and these are reported to last pretty much forever.

At least half the contents in the can arrived sounding as tho they have been crushed. Very disappointing, I don't see how ordering a new one would make a difference.. not a good choice unless you want crackers pre-crumbled for your soup..
