Hootie And The Blowfish announce first tour in over a decade as they are set to release new album in 2019

The 90s are back!

Hootie and The Blowfish announced their first tour in over a decade on Monday.

The band - known for their string of hits from 1994's Cracked Rear View - will embark on a 44 city romp to coincide with the release of a new studio album in 2019.

The album will be the first in over 15 years and made possible through a new record label deal with Universal Music Group Nashville.

The tour kicks off May 30th in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and wrapping up September 13th with a homecoming concert in Columbia, South Carolina.

Fellow 90s popular band Barenaked Ladies will be joining as special guests.

Lead singer Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim Sonefeld formed the band in the late 80s while the four were students at the University of South Carolina.

The debut album Cracker Rear View sold 21 million units.

It included such songs as Hold My Hand, Let Her Cry and Only Wanna Be With You.

The band took a hiatus in 2008 so Rucker could pursue a solo career in country music, which led to a Grammy in 2013.

Hootie and The Blowfish played at Jason Aldean’s High Noon Neon Tour this past July in Atlanta.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, December 7th.
