Keanu Reeves reveals Winona Ryder calls him 'husband'... 27 years after a real priest 'married' them in the wedding scene for Dracula film

In the wedding scene for the 1992 film Bram Stoker's Dracula, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder were seemingly married by a real Romanian priest hired by the director Francis Ford Coppola.

And during his appearance on The Talk Monday, the actor jokingly said Winona occasionally texts him a message that reads 'hello husband' to 'celebrate' their anniversary.

The handsome 54-year-old year old actor playfully added that his 'marriage' to his Dracula co-star is 'awesome.'

Carrie Anne Inaba said during his interview on The Talk: 'You've done everything on screen, including marrying Winona Ryder in the 1992 film Dracula. I heard that the priest was actually a real priest so you might actually be really married to her,' Carrie-Anne said in the interview.

'That's what Winona says,' he said with a grin.

'If that's the case then are you guys celebrating anniversaries?' she asked, to which he said: 'Yeah once in a while I'll get a text "hello husband."'

He added: 'I didn't really believe her but Francis Ford Coppola the director of Dracula contacted Winona and said publicly that yeah that actually happened the priest did a full ceremony and Winona and I got married.'

Carrie Anne said: 'So it's real,' to which Keanu joked: 'Yeah, it's awesome.'

In August, Winona, 47, explained her theory that she is in fact married to Keanu while on a promotional tour for their fourth movie collaboration - the 2018 film Destination Wedding.

She told Entertainment Weekly: 'We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to God I think we're married in real life.'

Explaining: 'In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we're married.'

He jokingly responded 'It's lovely to see you again' and asked 'we said yes?'

To which Winona said during their joint EW interview: 'Don't you remember that? It was on Valentine's Day.'

He had then said: 'Oh my gosh, we're married.' 

In addition to the 1992 Dracula and the 2018 Destination Wedding, the duo have also worked on the 2006 film A Scanner Darkly and The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee in 2009.
