Mystery surrounds missing 12-year-old boy who police warned public not to approach as he's 'seen in the last week' after disappearing before Christmas

Mystery still surrounds the whereabouts of a 12-year-old boy missing from home since Christmas but spotted in the past week before he fled again.

The child is from Parrs Wood area of Didsbury, Greater Manchester but went missing 100 miles away in Coniston, Cumbria three weeks ago.

Police yesterday urged the public not to approach him and call 999 if they see him. 

He first vanished from home in the Lake District on December 19 and has still not been found despite a sighting in Didsbury in recent days. 

The child is from Parrs Wood area of Didsbury (pictured), Greater Manchester but was last seen 100 miles away in Coniston, Cumbria.

He also has links to Blackpool, Manchester and Clitheroe - but the most likely place he will be seen is Disbury, police said. 

GMP added that he is known to frequent Parrs Wood Rd, Parkville Rd, Wilmslow Rd and Parsonage Rd.   

A police Facebook appeal, which has since been deleted, said: 'Please do not approach this male and if seen call 999'.
