I just had the pleasure of giving a talk on this subject with Joelle Charbonneau at the Spring Fling Conference in Illinois last weekend and we were happy to find that a lot of authors are embracing writing for both teen and adult these days. It’s a fun way to switch it up and learn different marketing techniques too. Here are a few authors who write specifically for teens and adults. I’m featuring their latest book overall, whether it is teen or adult.

Joelle Charbonneau has two mystery series for adults and a futuristic teen thriller trilogy, all with romantic elements. Her latest, A Chorus Lineup, is part of her Glee Club Mysteries for adults featuring Paige, who is trying to figure out who is sabotaging her high school show choirs’ chances at a national competition.

Kelley Armstrong’s powerful adult fantasy Otherworld stories continue to find readers while her Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising titles appeal especially to teens. Her new gothic fantasy romance series Age of Legends begins with her latest for teens, Sea of Shadows.

Meg Cabot’s teen Princess Diaries books were better known than her adult romances when she first starting hitting the top of the NYT lists, but she has a strong following with both groups now and new series for each. The Bride Wore Size 12 is the latest in her smart and funny Heather Wells romantic suspense for adults.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s bestselling Dark Hunters fantasy series for adults spawned a spin off series about character Nick Gautier, which is aimed at teens, called The Chronicles of Nick. The latest, Illusion, shows Nick imagining what his life would be like if he were not destined to be the son of a demon with a bad fate. Kenyon adds plenty of humor and teen realism to her edgy stories.

Mary Jo Putney added a teen historical suspense line, the Dark Mirror Novels, to her bestselling work as an adult historical romance author. Her latest Lost Lords title for adults, Sometimes a Rogue, follows feisty Sarah Clarke-Townsend as she pretends to be her twin when kidnappers try to take the pregnant Duchess, and lets herself be taken by the villains instead.

Gena Showalter has several teen and adult series and stand alone titles, including the teen adventures in the White Rabbit Chronicles. Her latest title as of this week if one of her dark and sexy Angels of the Dark series, Burning Dawn. Warrior Thane tries to protect Elin while they both fight their feelings for each other.

Funny contemporary romance writer Christie Craig found another successful voice in writing for the Shadow Falls titles for teens as C.C. Hunter. While the Shadow Falls titles are darker in tone, adult readers may enjoy those in addition to the sassy stories as Craig including her latest, Texas Hold ‘Em. Leah is not charmed by PI Austin when he comes hunting for information on her half-brother, but they can’t deny their attraction.

These are just a few of the writers who are discovering the fun in writing for teens. Many adults read those titles too, so don’t miss fun titles and series!
