Comedian Kevin Barnett, writer for Broad City and co-creator of Rel, dies aged 32

Comedian Kevin Barnett, who wrote and appeared on Fox series Rel, has died aged 32.

Barrett was reportedly vacationing in Mexico when he died suddenly, Deadline reports. 

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Ben Kissel, who hosted the podcast Round Table of Gentlemen with Barnett.

'It’s with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of Kevin Barnett. The joy he brought to our lives is the greatest gift we have ever received. Remind your friends you love them because you never know when you’re [sic] see them again. We love you KB.'

The cause of death is not yet known.

He posted his last Instagram over the weekend, when he was in Mexico, joking that he had been accused of cultural appropriation because of his outfit.

New-York based Barnett was an actor and stand-up comedian and had written for shows Rel, The Carmichael Show and Broad City.

He also wrote for movies The Do-Over (2016) and Hall Pass (2011) and is credited as one of the screenwriters for 2007's Heartbreak Kid starring Ben Stiller.

Barnett also had a small role in Dumb and Dumber To in 2014.

According to his IMDb Barnett had a few projects in the pipeline including a movie called The Wrong Missy with David Spade attached to it.

Mike Scully who produced The Simpsons and Parks and Recreation, and worked with Barnett on The Carmichael Show, expressed his condolences as he wrote on Twitter: 'Kevin Barnett was a great standup, but I knew him as a smart, funny, talented TV writer and just a really sweet guy who made the insanity of the late nights more fun,
