Ukraine has tested the new light portable anti-tank missile system CORSAR 2607133

According to the Luch State Design Bureau, Corsar has a firing range of up to 2,500 meters – double that of any existing portable antitank complex. It can operate in temperatures from minus 40 to plus 60 degrees Celsius (minus 40 to plus 140 Fahrenheit), the company says.

“We will be able to market the system and sign contracts in 2014 if we complete development by the end of the year,” a Luch spokesperson told RIA Novosti.

Corsar is intended “to destroy stationary and moving modern armored targets and other objects with combined, carried or monolithic armor including ERA (explosive reactive armor),” as well as helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles, according to Ukraine’s state company Ukroboronservice.

The system will have a price tag of about $130,000 – three times less than existing foreign models, the developer says.
