Montagu Kitchen is one of two restaurants located within the grand five-star Hyatt Regency London The Churchill. The eatery features an open dining / kitchen area giving it a relaxed and informal feel. The food and cocktail menus have been beautifully curated, with seasonal ingredients shaping what’s on offer. Our waiter informed us that each dish / drink has been inspired by the National Trust’s Chartwell House and Garden in Kent – Winston Churchill’s illustrious former residence. The fresh bread with creamy paprika butter is dangerously moreish, as is the roasted portobello mushroom, topped with garden peas, keen cheddar, charred corn and beetroot ketchup. Oh, and don't leave without trying the incredible egg custard tart!
For the ultimate slab of steak in London, I urge you to check out Smith & Wollensky on the Strand. Inspired by the original outpost in New York, this swanky restaurant oozes character with dark wood panelling, swathes of racing green leather and smartly dressed waiters. Be sure to ask your waiter for a tour of the kitchen, as they'll be all too willing to oblige. You'll be left salivating after a peek in the meat locker where hunks of prime cuts are waiting to be expertly prepared. The bone-in sirloin Kansas cut (550g) comes highly recommended. If you do have room, I dare you to tackle the divine multi-layered chocolate cake. There are doggy bags available if you can't manage a crumb more! And the cocktails are spot on, if you're after a post-work pick-me-up!
No. Ten Manchester Street, a boutique hotel in the heart of Marylebone, has partnered up with London's family-run cheesemonger La Fromagerie to offer a delicious festive stay and fondue package. The quaint store, which has other outlets in Highbury and Bloomsbury, boasts around 350 different cheeses and there is a small restaurant on the premises. The candlelit venue serves up a cosy and buzzing atmosphere with the mouth-watering smell of fondue wafting through. Those who book the festive stay and fondue package at No. Ten Manchester Street are entitled to a bottle of wine, and one fondue per person. Plus they will find an array of La Fromagerie goodies in their room!
You can't see it from the country lane in the quaint village of Eckington on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, but hidden away from the road is charming Eckington Manor, where the 2015 winner of MasterChef: The Professionals, Mark Stinchcombe, has made his culinary home. The manor itself is a wonky house dating back to 1250 but it is the modern extension that houses the restaurant, serving up stunning fine dining fare without pretension. Highlights of the very filling 10-course tasting menu included a salad of buttery courgettes and creamy ricotta that tasted of British summer, with ingredients picked from the garden we could see from our table. There was also a not-too-rich beef tartare with the perfect amount of seasoning, served with a love-it-or-love-it Marmite mayo. A shout out too for the umami chicken butter served with warm bread. Eckington is the perfect base for a romantic weekend getaway - just a couple of hours' drive from London.

The luxury French drinks brand has collaborated with celebrated two-Michelin starred French chef Claude Bosi, to craft a mouth-watering concise food menu to complement the seasonal cocktail offerings. Expect crispy ravioli of sausage, fried chicken with crab mayo and Moreceambe Bay oysters amongst other delights. On the drinks front, libations include the Baptiste (a crisp refreshing long drink made with Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal) and the iconic classic Royal Sidecar (made with Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal and Cointreau). The bar will be open every day from 4:30pm to 12:00am Monday to Saturday and from 12:00pm to 11:00pm on Sundays.
The Hari Hotel, situated in the heart of London’s Belgravia, is well worth checking out for its ultra-chic interior design and restaurant offering and now its charming winter terrace is another draw. Guests are invited to feast on savoury and sweet fondues, paired with Moet & Chandon champagne. The menu, which has been created by executive chef Claudio Covino and pastry chef Riccardo Zanetti, offers guests a tantalising array of treats. There are winter vegetables and fresh-baked bread to dunk in the cheese, while doughnut balls and marshmallows pair well with the chocolate. The seasonal cocktails are also worth checking out, with the smokey old fashioned highly recommended. The winter terrace will be open until January 6.
