Pretty surprising that iOS 12.1.4 is taking this long. 9 days of no Group FaceTime.

As someone mentioned in the comments, I wonder if Apple's goal here is to keep this lawsuit out of Eastern Texas court, known to be patent troll friendly historically. Apple filed in its home turf of Northern California.

Apple's iOS 12.2 beta has a new Motion & Orientation Access toggle in Privacy settings, off by default, that limits gyroscope and accelerometer access in Safari ( / MacRumors)

This is probably really obvious, especially after I read Apple's statement a second time, but something I have confirmed nonetheless.

I'm still getting emails from customers about this, trying to get answers/information for them, it would be great if we could get some added visibility on this with RTs

I may be missing something here, but what happens when Apple re-enables Group FaceTime after releasing iOS 12.1.4 next week? Surely there are millions of people who won't update—at least not right away. Will they be vulnerable to the bug again?

2️⃣ Any wagers on "Apple believes privacy is a fundamental human right" being mentioned at some point?

1️⃣ I assume iOS 12.1.4 drops tomorrow to address the FaceTime bug. I'm very curious to see how Apple positions itself. Do they apologize? That could have legal implications. Do they completely own the mistake or downplay it? Do they announce improvements to bug reporting?

Between the incredible FaceTime bug and these whipsaw enterprise certificate decisions, this has been a really unsettling week for many people who cover Apple (though perhaps not people who cover *for* Apple).

Whether intentional or not, these Facebook and Google enterprise certificate revocations by Apple create quite the distraction from this week's massive FaceTime bug.
