Regular standard conveyor RSC015-50 series

Continued from the previous blog, Regular standard conveyor(RSC020-90),
today, we will introduce a smaller conveyor, Regular standard conveyor(RSC015-50) 

This conveyor  is normally equipped with stainless steel belt, thickness 0.15mm, 
and pullies,  diameter Φ50mm.
The weight that the conveyor is capable of transporting is from a few grams to a few kilograms. 
This conveyor is often categorized as a small-size conveyor. 

By grounding, the conveyor is able to reduce the charging on its belt  when it comes to coneveying electronic parts and semicondor parts.
This is one of the reasons that cutomers are happy to chose the conveyor.

Moreover, the vibration of the belt is relatively small, and its steady and flat surrface continously helps smooth transportation
Hence, inspection of pratic or resin products is one of the main applications.
In that case,  fluorein coating on the belt surface is recomanded for anti-reflection purpose.

The width of stainless steel belts can be chosen between  40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 150mm
The distance between its pullies center can be less than 4000mm each.

Film Handling by Low-Inertia Roll

The new technology is progressing rapidly.
Thanks to this, various films used in a wide field have been thinner.
To thin films we can not apply strong tension.
So, when inertia of a transporting roller is large,
contact and synchronicity between a film and the roller are not in good conditions.
This situation causes slipping of the film, then scratches are generated on the film.

This is exactly an issue DYMCO challenges to solve.
Lower inertia of the transport roll is very much expected as manufacturing technology.
Starting from the experimental stage,
at present we are upgrading our low inertial rolls to try for the real production lines.
Now follows this report.


1. Structure of our low inertia roll
The roll body itself does not rotate.  
When compressed air is introduced from the fixed hollow shaft end, 
air is blown out from the radially opened small holes of the roll surface.

The thin-walled metal sleeve is set along the outer diameter of the core roll.
Due to the compressed air coming out of these holes,
the thin-walled sleeve diameter expands and is off the roll core.  
The sleeve is floating.
The thin-walled metal sleeve and side rings* only rotate very lightly.
They is why a film comes to this roll and moves together lightly with this roll.

2. Comparison between the low inertial roll and the conventional rolls

The table below shows the comparison of the inertia in the central cylindrical part of the same size roll.
In the low inertia roll,  the roll body including the bearing part does not rotate,
while inertia of the conventional roll is fairly large as the entire body rotates.

4. Effect of the low inertia roll

The advantage is productivity improvement by speeding up the production line.

Generally, as the roll diameter and the width increase, inertia increases.
Then speed difference between the roll and the film becomes apparent.
We cannot increase speed of the conventional rolls, but can do it with our roll.
Because the low inertial roll can follow the speed of the film.

Other advantage is being clean and scratch-less.

New Year message from Tetsuo Taga, the president of Dymco, a steel belt supplier

Happy New Year !
Since Dymco established 32 years ago in the year of the Japanese calendar Showa 61 (1986), we have experienced fluctuating economic condition. However, we had good business performance last year (Heisei 30) thanks to all the people who supported Dymco in various opportunity.
In the year of Heisei 1 (1989), consumption tax 3 % was enforced, and consumption tax 10 % is anticipated this year.

The year of Kanji (Chinese character) in 2018 was “WAZAWAI” meaning misfortune. Series of typhoon, heavy rain, and flood have hit the Japanese Archipelago last year. It is crucial for a business administrator how to steer the company in dramatically changing economic climate. Heisei will terminate, and the new era name will be announced in May this year. 

Tokyo Olympic/Paralympic is coming in 2020. Seeing those events, I made a resolution to behave myself like a strong leader.
Let me present 10 maxims of self-reproach I found last year at Zenko-ji temple in Nagano City. 

/ When a man thinks himself as a cultivated person,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man being polite,
/ When a man thinks himself as an intelligent person,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man of no desire,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man having human touch,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man not being brazen,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man of spirit,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man of cooperativeness,
/ When a man thinks himself as a man of good sense,
//the man is under the illusion that it is true.
/Intending minimum wastefulness turn to be maximum waste.

These phrases sank into my heart.
