British army paratroopers train Sierra Leone soldiers for African mission in Somalia
 
Four British army paratroopers have been training Sierra Leonean troops in mortar firing in preparation for an African Union mission in Somalia next year. The team of soldiers, from 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, based in Colchester, flew out to West Africa to complete the live-fire tactical training of the Sierra Leonean troops.

Joint military training for the British and French airborne artillery units in Otterburn, United Kingdom
 
The airborne gunners of 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery (7 Para RHA) have been reinforcing links with their French counterparts as they train to form part of the British Army's Rapid Reaction Force. 7 Para RHA was joined on Exercise Eagles Resolve by senior officers from its French sister unit - 35e Régiment d'Artillerie Parachutiste (35e RAP).

British armoured Warthog cover distance of around world in 80 days on operations in Afghanistan
 
After 80 days in Afghanistan, the Operation HERRICK 14 Warthog Group has travelled a distance equivalent to circumnavigating the world. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards' (SCOTS DG) Delta Squadron Warthog Group of British Army has been in Afghanistan for 80 days, covering, in that time, 41,000 km (or 25,625 miles) with their all-terrain vehicles.

A secret insurgent training school and a huge haul of deadly insurgent bombs have been destroyed by British forces in Helmand following a daylight helicopter assault and intense fire fight. After receiving a tip-off from local people, the 3 Commando Brigade Reconnaissance Force (BRF) uncovered the enemy base in Nahr-e Saraj district.

Upgraded Warrior British infantry fighting vehicle saved lives of soldiers against IED in Afghanistan
 
Newly-upgraded Warrior MCV-80 vehicles have saved the lives of British soldiers within weeks of arriving in Afghanistan. Warrior is the only British tracked infantry vehicle in theatre, able to get to places that wheeled vehicles cannot. This enables the infantry to engage the enemy more effectively in difficult terrain.
