According to a statement released on March 19, 2019, by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Israel's advanced missile defense system David's Sling successfully intercepted medium to long-range missiles in a joint exercise with the United States. This test series, designated David's Sling Test-6 (DST-6) was the sixth series of tests of the David's Sling Weapon System.

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is in charge of an acquisition strategy approved to solicit and negotiate with only one source, the Raytheon Company, in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for the procurement of seven Army Navy/Transportable Surveillance and Control Model 2 (AN/TPY-2) radars, radar spares, obsolescence redesign, sustainment services, and initial Contractor Logistics Support (CLS).

Arnold Defense has been awarded a $53.8 million contract for the delivery of 2.75-inch rocket launchers and sub components to support the U.S. Navy, Army and Air Force, along with foreign military sales to Australia. The MBDA MMP Medium-Range anti-tank guided missile is now qualified to be used in cold weather conditions. In early 2019, the DGA (French Procurement Agency) and the French Army (STAT) organised a campaign to test the MMP land combat missile in extreme cold conditions. Performed on the Swedish state firing range at Vidsel, located near the Arctic Circle with temperatures between -15 °C and -30 °C, the cold weather campaign of the MMP was a complete success.

India has decided to buy US-made assault rifles, ammunition, parachutes and several other specialised equipments for its special forces. Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to chair an important meeting where the proposal to buy this equipment will be discussed, the Indian News Agency reports.

MBDA saw another strong year of trading performance in 2018, recording a further EUR 4.0 billion in orders that brought the company's order book up to a record total of EUR 17.4 billion. Revenue was also slightly ahead year-on-year to EUR 3.2 billion.

On March 18, Sarcos Robotics, a global leader in robotic systems that augment, rather than replace humans working in the industrial, public safety and military sectors, announced that it has been awarded a contract by the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to deliver a pre-production version of its Guardian XO (“XO”) full-body, autonomously powered robotic exoskeleton.

Russia has deployed another regimental set of the S-400 Triumph air defense missiles in its westernmost exclave of Kaliningrad, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday, March 15. The new set of missiles has been supplied to the Russian Baltic Fleet from the Kapustin Yar test site in the southern Astrakhan Region after successful test launches, a ministry statement said.

On March 13, 2019, the U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Australia of AIM-120C-7 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $240.5 million. These items are in support of Australia’s purchase of the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System (NASAMS).

The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Spain of AAVP-7A1 Assault Amphibious Vehicles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $107 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on March 14, 2019.

Florence Parly, French Minister of Defense, accompanied Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic, to Djibouti and Ethiopia, on March 11 and 12, 2019, to consolidate or create bilateral defense cooperation.

The U.S. Army has awarded Northrop Grumman a $713 million contract for the production of Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) for the first phase of Poland's WISLA air and missile defense program. WISLA plans also call for the Patriot missile defense system to be acquired, with that system expected to be integrated into the IBCS network.

On March 14, 2019, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg released his Annual Report for 2018. The Report outlines how NATO is responding to today's security threats, adapting to new challenges, and investing in the future. It covers NATO's activities and achievements to strengthen its deterrence and defense posture, to boost its efforts to fight international terrorism, to increase its capacity building support to partners and to accelerate its modernisation and innovation agenda. The Annual Report includes the details of estimated 2018 national defense expenditures for all 29 NATO Allies.

On 13 March, thousands of Cambodian and Chinese soldiers descended upon a 10,000-hectare training area in Kampot Province, southern Cambodia, to kick off the largest-ever joint military exercise between the two nations, as Ben Sokhean reports in the Khmer Times.

U.S. Marines are officially getting a new set of wheels. The Marine Corps will start fielding the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) to Marines, following a decision made Dec. 12 by the Program Executive Officer Land Systems, Ashley Calingo reports on DVIDS. But serious cuts in the JLTV programme are firmly requested by U.S. Army officials to spend money on other defense priorities.
