The AJAX, formerly known as the Scout SV (Specialist Vehicle), is a program for the British Army to provide a new generation of light tracked armored vehicle. The Scout SV program is lead by the Company General Dynamics UK with the goal to replace the CVRT (light armored vehicle) fleet of the British Army and to be the British Army's Tracked Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance.
The ARES is the tracked APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) variant of the Scout SV family now called AJAX family. In June 2014, at DVD (Defence Vehicle Dynamics), General Dynamics UK has unveiled the first pre-production prototype of PMRS (Protected Mobility Recce Support), now called ARES armored personnel carrier. The PMRS will provide safe transportation of fully-equipped soldiers in a well-protected environment.
