Speaking about it how it affected him on This Morning on Monday, the Sex Bomb hitmaker said: 'It reminded me of my wife Linda, she passed away three years ago. Dina sang it so beautifully, she nailed it. She got to me.

'When my wife passed away I didn’t think I could sing. Your vocal chords close up when you are emotional. Certain songs I was frightened of doing because it reminded me so much of her.

'If you are feeling emotional you have to take advantage of that. It took a few months to just try and see if I could sing.

'I tried a few songs, there’s a song that Bob Dylan wrote called What Good Am I and it’s about you letting things happen to someone you love. It’s one of those songs it’s a very emotional song and I was able to do that.'

The Voice final airs on ITV on Saturday at 8.40pm.
