A new thermal area has popped up in Yellowstone National Park, in yet another sign of the ever-changing magma activity beneath the surface. Satellite images have revealed an expanse of about eight acres - or the equivalent of four soccer fields - where the ground is warmer than its surroundings, causing the trees and vegetation in that patch to die off. While scientists have only just confirmed its existence, the United State Geological Survey (USGS) estimates it's been forming over the last 20 or so years.

A 'charred and unidentifiable' body was found in a black plastic bag surrounded by air fresheners at a Staten Island storage facility early Thursday morning, right. Authorities say it is the body of deceased 37-year-old Jeanine Cammarata, inset. Her estranged husband Michael Cammarata, left, and his girlfriend Ayisha Egea, right, have now been charged with murdering, burning and trying to hide her body. Jeanine and Michael were in the middle of a custody battle and divorce. She was last seen late Saturday when she dropped her boyfriend at his home. Jeanine said she was going to visit Michael and their children, who live with him. Michael was taken into police custody Tuesday evening after he allegedly admitted to punching Jeanine in the face on the night she went missing. Investigators have allegedly obtained video of Michael carrying a large bag out of his apartment in the Queens shortly after Jeanine left on Saturday night. He was later seen at the same storage facility where the body was found.

A Chinese millionaire paid close top double the asking price for a home owned by Harvard's fencing coach just months before his son was recruited by the man and offered a spot at the Ivy League University. The Boston Globe reports that entrepreneur Jie 'Jack' Zhao purchased the Massachusetts home of Harvard's fencing coach Peter Brand in 2016 for $989,500, despite the fact that he had never seen the property and its assessed value was $549,300.  A short time later his son Edward, 19, was recruited by Brand for the fencing squad and then accepted into Harvard. 

Beyonce, 37, announced on Thursday that she has partnered with Adidas. The Formation singer reportedly walked out of a meeting with Reebok because of the brand's lack of diversity, pointing out that no one in the room shared her skin color or her personal experiences. Writer Nick DePaula shared the story during an appearance on ESPN's The Jump. Reebok has denied the report, saying it is 'categorically false.' Our discussions with Beyoncé and her team continued for several months after our initial meeting. We are disappointed that false information is being reported as fact,' a rep told TMZ. It's unclear how much Beyonce is being paid for the 'multi-layered' deal with Adidas, but Kanye West signed a reported $10 million deal with the brand in 2014. Beyonce first dabbled in athletic wear two years ago when she launched her brand Ivy Park (left and right) in collaboration with billionaire Topshop owner Philip Green. In November, Beyonce bought out Green after he was accused of multiple instances of sexual harassment and racial abuse, which he denies. Beyonce is now bringing Ivy Park to Adidas and further developing the line.

Leor Bergland (left), 30, of San Francisco was arrested after he allegedly drew a sword and slashed the hand of a man who knocked his Trump campaign hat (right) off his head. The victim encountered Bergland outside of the Church of 8 Wheels rollerskating rink last week, was treated and eventually released from a hospital. Bergland, who allegedly shouted homophobic slurs at another man, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, mayhem, and weapons and assault charges.

Angela Merkel met Barack Obama at the German Chancellery today (main image) - and looked far happier to see the former president than she has for the incumbent, President Trump (inset at the G7 meeting in June). Obama embraced her after their meeting, which was believed to be to discuss Trans-Atlantic relations.

The Waco Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of 17-year-old Jamarion Reese on Thursday, hoping to charge him with a Class 'A' assault after the shocking video quickly went viral last week. Reese was booked into McLennan County Jail in Waco for a parole violation on April 1 for an undisclosed offence, but calls made by the DailyMail.com on Friday revealed that he was no longer in custody at the jail. The police shared on Thursday that they are aware of his location and hope to serve the warrant 'when possible.'

Audio had emerged of an Elisabeth Hasselback storming off set during a 2006 segment on The View and refusing to return after she and Barbara Walters got into a heated argument about birth control. 'F*** that! I'm not going to sit there and get reprimanded on the air. I am not going to get reprimanded. No, it's not okay to sit there and get reprimanded on the air,'  Hasselback can be heard saying in the audio, which was first obtained by Variety. 'What the f***! I'm not going back out there. I'm not going back out there.' Joy Behar can be heard trying to calm Hasselback and speaking in a supportive voice, just moments after her comments led to her co-host tearing up her note cards and exiting the set.

Mary Lou Lord met the Nirvana frontman in 1991, shortly before he found fame. The two quickly struck up a relationship over their shared love of music. But when Mary Lou was forced to return to Boston for work from Nirvana's tour Cobain would go onto meet Hole frontwoman Courtney Love. And after travelling to London to meet back up with him she was disappointed when Cobain seemed to grow cold after the late night chat with Love. Lord and Cobain split and he would go onto marry Love and have a baby with her. Mary Lou has now opened up about dating the star 25 years after his death.

The skull of Charles Oppenneer, 25, (pictured top right) has been found on private property in Michigan four years after he was murdered in Wyoming. Oppenneer's decapitated body was found in woods in July 2014 after he was killed after accompanying his eight months pregnant girlfriend, Brooke Slocum, (bottom right) to meet Brady Oestrike, 31, (pictured main) to exchange sex for cash in a park. Slocum was kidnapped by Oestrike and subjected to five days of torture before she was strangled. Oestrike killed himself while fleeing from police.

A man who is alleged to be Mexican actor Pablo Lyle was caught on camera knocking out Juan Ricardo Hernández during a traffic dispute on Sunday. The 63-year-old Cuban man had approached an SUV - where Lyle and his family were passengers - after it apparently cut him off on Dolphin Expressway. Lyle is alleged to have got out and attacked Hernández, who fell to the pavement after the punch, and suffered a fracture to the right side of the skull and internal bleeding. Lyle, who holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the United States, was released on bail Sunday after paying a $5,000 bond  and flew to Mexico on Monday. Police say the actor claimed he struck Hernández because he thought he was going to hit him first.

Joshua Gonzalez, 20, was booked on one count of first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault on Friday in connection with the killing of Summerbell Brown, according to Phoenix police. The victim's mother, Taneisha Brown, broke down in tears as she described locking eyes with the gunman seconds before he opened fire on Wednesday. 'I looked at him dead in the face, he had this deranged look. He looked like he was high on something' Taniesha said.

Tim Schrandt was laid to rest on Thursday in Spillville after making 'his last inappropriate comment' on March 29, the 63-year-old's family announced in the obituary. They paid tribute to the beloved son, brother, father and grandfather by filling the obituary with jokes inspired by his sense of humor.

Kathie Lee Gifford, 65, spent her last day on the Today show Friday morning. During the broadcast, Kathie Lee entered to the tune of Flo Rida's Sweet Sensation as she greeted people in the audience. She and Hoda Kotb, 54, reminisced on their nearly 11 years filming together. A trivia segment sensationally revealed the co-hosts were served an estimated 5,300 glasses of wine while filming together for the fourth hour. Kathie Lee was also surprised with a video from former co-host Regis Philbin as well as a performance from Barry Manilow.

The group of six had gotten stuck in a malfunctioning elevator on the Carnival Inspiration ship, last week, and shared photos and videos from the horrifying event. After they were eventually released from the elevators, Carnival Cruise Lines provided them with a letter stating they were banned from future trips. A Carnival Cruise Lines spokesperson said that there are 'always two sides to every story' and implied the passengers messed with things in the elevator.

Alexis Hunter (inset bottom), now 70, who wrote a book about Lansing (left and inset top) in 2015, claims she developed a romantic bond with the film and TV star before she passed away in 1972 at the age of 44 from cancer. Hunter claims they hid their secret fling in plain sight, pretending she was Rachel Lansing - Joi's beloved sister (pictured right, together circa 1970) - so they could continue their relationship in secret. Hunter claims she went on to have a secret romantic relationship with Lansing from 1969 until her death in 1972. At the time, Lansing was married to her third husband, business manager Stan Todd. The couple were together when she passed in '72. Hunter said they kept the relationship under wraps because 'if anyone had known in Hollywood about our relationship, that would have destroyed her career'. They lied to the press, telling them Hunter was Rachel Lansing, the actress' beloved sister.

A band of caring New York City subway riders rushed to the aid of a fellow passenger on Friday morning, after the wheel of her suitcase became trapped between the platform and the train. Captured in motion by Stephanie Bassie, a number of commuters can be seen rushing on to the platform to push up against an E train rail carriage at the 50th St stop in Manhattan. The heart-warming effort was spurred at 8:00am, after a woman attempted to board the subway with a suitcase, but a wheel from the bag got stuck, lodging itself between the platform and a step protruding from the door of the carriage.

Rod Stewart is enjoying a family holiday in Palm Beach, Florida with his wife Penny Lancaster and several of his children. The singer, 74, and his family posed for a snap which was uploaded to Instagram by Penny, 48, who lamented that not all his relatives could make it. She wrote: 'Family holiday time but sadly there is always one or two missing @renee_stewartt @rubystewart. Miss you guys!'

A Florida police department were forced to rename their newest four-legged recruit on Friday morning, having accidentally originally named the K-9 after a famous Nazi general. Lake County Sheriff's Office proudly announced the debut of their new 10-week-old bloodhound puppy, called Rommel, on Friday, ahead of his journey in assisting officer's in their search for missing persons and fugitives. However, the post was soon inundated with messages of disapproval, after the public likened the name to Erwin Rommel, a famous Nazi war criminal

And despite his disadvantages at home, Angulo Córdoba has been able to maintain good grades at school. The mayor of Moche, a town where five percent of the population cannot afford electricity, has offered to assist the family

A sleepy pooch found the perfect place to park her pooped posterior at a pet store. A French bulldog's owners caught the moment when their dog decided she'd found the dog bed of her dreams in the aisle of a Petco in Fresno, California. In the video which the owners posted on their Facebook page , the French bulldog can be seen snuggling into a fluffy dog bed on a lower shelf at the pet store. As the owners pull on the dog's leash, which is attached to a tie-dyed body harness, the dog digs in, stretching herself out like so much furry dead weight.

Egyptian archaeologists have restored a statue of Ramses II after piecing together 70 broken shards (left). A 2,000-year-old tomb (inset) was discovered nearby in the Sohag region containing a mummified woman and child (top right) alongside more than 50 mice (bottom right), falcons and cats in a 2,000-year-old tomb in Akhmim, Egypt. Secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mostafa Waziri, said: 'It's one of the most exciting discoveries ever in the area'. The findings were revealed by the Ministry of Antiques with the aim of drawing tourists to the central Sohag province.

College student Kiara Owens, 18, attempted to leave her father Larry Owens dripping from head to toe after taking part in a water cup challenge last week. The challenge involves holding a full water cup on the ceiling using only a broom handle and then safely bringing it to the ground. Kiara, along with a friend, can be seen giggling and running out of shot at their home in Texas, leaving the 49-year-old holding the cup - smugly telling him 'see you later, Larry'.

A rare oil lamp emblazoned with the nine-branched menorah was also found and is being heralded as the most culturally significant find at the site in the Israeli desert. The find also exposed underground tunnels used by rebels during the Bar Kokhba revolt in 135AD. Evidence also surfaced proving the area was being used during the First Jewish Revolt of 70AD to store goods in underground rooms and chambers.

In June 2018, Alexander Kraenkl had been diving in the Red Sea for 50 minutes before encountering the oceanic whitetip shark. The 51-year-old, who lives in Austria, spotted the predator swimming towards him and tried to grab the anchor rope to lift himself to safety, but it was too late. The shark viciously bit Alexander's right thigh (injuries inset), just below a safety item hanging from his dive vest.

Busy, 39, opened up about how directors previously would ask the actress to cover up her moles when on set, which made her uncomfortable in her own skin. She admitted to now having more agency as the TV host of Busy Tonight on E!. This allows Busy to control her image when filming or doing photo shoots. 'I have less of a desire to fit into anyone else's idea of what is "beautiful,"' she said. Busy revealed she often wears minimal makeup outside of filming and instead focuses on using toner and moisturizer.

A photographer captured video of the darling moment when a couple of bear cubs scampered across an Alaskan road so they could frolic with their mama on the other side. 'I was photographing the sow (mama) black bear and her triplet cubs with my big camera lens when she and her babies cross the road in front of me,' the unnamed photographer said in the video's description. 'I had to put down my big camera lens and use my cell phone for photos and to take this video.' The photographer claimed to have shot the video in June 2017 in Anchorage, Alaska.
