Daniel Radcliffe is a long way from Hogwarts - Adelaide, Australia to be exact, where he's shooting his latest film, Escape from Pretoria.

With the mercury hitting a balmy 28 degrees Celsius, the 29-year-old took a break from his hectic schedule to enjoy some weekend sunshine on Saturday.

Stripping down to his blue shorts, the actor went shirtless as he caught some rays shortly before returning to England.

Showing off his muscular, pale physique, the British performer casually puffed on an unhealthy cigarette.

Looking pensive, he enjoyed the no doubt impressive view from his high rise balcony.

Daniel has completely changed his look for the upcoming film, growing a beard and sporting longer hair.

The Kill Your Darlings star was similarly enjoying the sunshine and another smoke last weekend on another break from filming.

Last week, he stripped down to his underwear for a cigarette break on the same balcony.

With filming almost completed on Tim Jenkins biopic Escape from Pretoria, Daniel looked fairly relaxed.

Escape From Pretoria is inspired by a real-life escape from the brutal Pretoria Maximum Security prison in South Africa 1979.

Filming began for the highly anticipated movie at Mitcham train station, in the suburb of Lower Mitcham, Adelaide, four weeks ago.

The film is written and directed by Francis Annan and based on Tim Jenkin's autobiography, Inside Out: Escape From Pretoria Prison.

Daniel's character Tim and his friend Stephen Lee were two white South Africans branded as 'terrorists' and thrown in jail in 1978.
