BRIAN VINER: It is a wildly exhilarating, and at times genuinely poignant finale to the Avengers cycle of films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; a suitable climax to 22 blockbusters.
BRIAN VINER: Red Joan is a dishonest film with a dishonest title. It is 'inspired' by the story of Melita Norwood, who was an 87-year-old widow who had also worked for the Soviets for decades.
BRIAN VINER: At first reviled for his Nazi background, Bert Trautmann was eventually lionised by English football fans, especially Manchester City supporters.
This is unequivocally, categorically, unambiguously (unless of course the men with fat cigars change their minds) the end of the road for the Avengers. Endgame opens in the UK today.
Now a seasoned, seen-it-all veteran of 29, Buckley still hasn't quite converted her abundant star quality into major stardom. This film could well be the springboard, writes BRIAN VINER.
BRIAN VINER: The Flannan lighthouse keepers really did disappear, and The Vanishing is an entirely imagined account of what might have happened to them.
