Jennifer Garner gets surprise visit from Martha Stewart on The Dr. Oz Show as actress reveals she named her dog after the cooking show hostess
Jennifer Garner appeared on the episode of The Dr. Oz Show scheduled for Friday and received a wonderful surprise in the form of Martha Stewart.
And the actress revealed she had named her beloved pooch after the multi-talented writer and cooking show mogul, 77, during the impromptu meeting.
'When I was a young actress starting out and I would have auditions in the morning, I would come back and make myself lunch and watch her first cooking show. Back before she had a talk show or anything like that and it was just in the kitchen with Martha' explained the 47-year-old.

As the original Martha walked on stage it was obvious to see the joy on Jennifer's face. The leading ladies embraced in a hug when they met each other on the stage and began to cook together.
Dr. Oz asked if the dog's full name was Martha Stewart or simply Martha.
'Well, I mean it depended if she was being good, maybe she was Martha but she knew that if I called her Martha Stewart she'd better get off the couch,' explained the Alias actress.
'Yes, she was the world's absolute best gorgeous dog and she and Martha Stewart, the actual human, loved that there were dogs in the world named after her. So she was always very sweet and very welcoming to Martha Stewart, the dog,' she added.

Jennifer then asked Martha: 'Do you remember Martha Stewart, the dog don't you?'. 'Of course,' Martha replied.
The chummy friends have know each other for many years as Jennifer explained she learned how to cook Thanksgiving dinner during a visit to one of Martha's earlier cooking shows.
'Well, she taught me how to make a Thanksgiving. We did Thanksgiving together and it has been the Thanksgiving that I've made for my family every year,' said Jennifer.

Meanwhile, Jennifer posted to Instagram on Thursday to spread awareness about rural poverty and the importance of helping children.
The post specifically focused on rural poverty within Los Angeles and how the group Save The Children is working to help improve the lives of others.
And her selfless actions come on the heels of her landing the cover of People's The Beautiful Issue.
