But Simon Cowell proved he was very much a family man as he was spotted enjoying a day out riding bikes with girlfriend Lauren Silverman and son Eric on Santa Monica Pier, California on Saturday.
The TV judge, 59, and his family were joined by friend and fellow BGT judge David Walliams, 47, as the group soaked up the Californian sunshine.

Normally known for his stern persona onscreen, Simon looked happy and relaxed as he joyously rode his mountain bike along the pier.
Dressed casually for the outing, the star donned a long sleeved black top, which he teamed with a pair of crisp white shorts.
He added a pair of black and white slip-on trainers and shielded his eyes with a pair of dark sunglasses.
Meanwhile, Lauren, 41, nailed off-duty chic in a denim button-up shirt, and just like her famous boyfriend, she too rocked a pair of white shorts.

Adding to her low-key look, she added a simple pair of black flip-flops and black sunglasses.
The socialite allowed her brunette tresses to flow freely in the wind, while she ditched the make-up for the casual family outing.
Little Eric, five, meanwhile was as adorable as ever in a dark grey slogan T-shirt, black hoodie, navy blue trainers and a pair of black jogging bottoms with a rainbow print at the knee.
Putting the tot's safety first, Eric had a helmet firmly on his head as he sat behind his mother on his bicycle seat.

Meanwhile, comedian David swapped his suits for a much more laid back ensemble, donning a navy T-shirt and black jogging bottoms which he teamed with a pair of white and black trainers.
The group looked as though they were having tons of fun, with Simon and Lauren seen whizzing along together.
While David and Simon later had a catch-up while pedalling along side by side.
Simon's adventurous day out with his son comes as he revealed that his biggest fear was that Eric would be bullied at school.

Speaking to Weekend magazine, he said: 'Him being bullied is what I dread most.
'There are two things that worry me about him growing up. One is stress. Children are under so much stress – with homework, pressure. I really don’t want that for him.
'The second thing is bullying. It terrifies me. If there’s even a whiff of it... I don’t think I could handle it.'
However, he explained how the tot was 'loving primary school', adding: 'He likes school, which is surprising because I never did. He says he likes learning.'
Simon and Lauren went public with their romance in 2013 and welcomed their son Eric in 2014.
