  • Cotton is currently being held on a $5,000 bond 

An Upstate New York woman has been arrested and charged after authorities said she asked a 911 operator how to kill her boyfriend.

Zelda L. Cotton, 54, is accused of attacking a 76-year-old man on Saturday in Tonawanda, New York, Buffalo News reported.

Cotton is said to have struck the man multiple times before calling a 911 dispatcher for advice on how to finish the job.

Authorities said the man was not injured in the altercation.

Town of Tonawanda police said Cotton struck the man five times with a 'VCR tape.'

She's also said to have attempted to hit him with a leaf blower battery.

Cotton, who lives on Delaware Street, was intoxicated when she was taken into custody, police said. 

The incident occurred at a home on Williams Street. 

Cotton was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of an elderly person. 

She was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

She is currently being held on $5,000 bail.

The Town of Tonawanda Police Department did not immediately return DailyMail.com's message seeking additional information about the incident.
