And Lily Collins, 30, and Nicholas Hoult, 29, were surrounded by fans when they arrived at Global Radio studios for an appearance on Capital Radio in London on Monday.
The film, based on the early life of acclaimed Lord of the Rings author J.R.R Tolkein, sees Nicholas star as the writer while Lily plays his wife Edith Bratt.

Lily cut a stylish figure for their joint appearance to promote the film, donning a flowing black coat which she paired with an orange turtle-neck jumper.
She also wore dark, slim-fitting trousers and added height to her frame with a pair of black heels.
Styling her brunette locks into loose waves, Lily looked in high spirits as she waved to fans on her way into the studio.
Meanwhile, Nicholas sported an orange jacket which he paired with a white skirt and black skinny jeans.

The first trailer for the film was released in February, and opens with Lily narrating over a scene of the author as a child, as she asks him: 'Tell me a story.'
Scenes show Tolkien grow from boy to man, as he can be heard saying: 'It’s a story about journeys, the journeys we take to prove ourselves.'
The film echoes Tolkien and Bratt's real-life love story. They met and fell in love when the author was just 16 and she was three years his senior.
His guardian asked him to wait until he was 21 to pursue the romance as he believed he had been paying less attention at school due to love and didn't like that Edith was a Protestant and not a Catholic.

Tolkien begrudgingly obeyed the instruction and wrote to Edith on the evening of his 21st birthday with a proposal but discovered she was engaged to another man.
Edith didn't think Tolkien loved her any more and was worried about being left on the shelf, but she admitted the letter had changed everything for her.
She returned the ring and she and Tolkien married, with Edith converting to Catholicism and being thrown out of her home as a result.
They remained together until Edith passed away in 1971 and they are now buried alongside one another.

They have the names Beren and Lúthien on their headstones, named after two lovers who appear in several of Tolkien's works and were inspired by their own love affair.
It was reported that Tolkien's family have distanced themselves from an upcoming biopic about the author and do not approve of the new film.
In the first statement made by the Tolkien Estate regarding the biopic, the family of the author said it does not endorse the Fox Searchlight production 'in any way'.

The statement said: 'The family of JRR Tolkien and the Tolkien Estate are aware of the Fox Searchlight motion picture entitled Tolkien that is due for release in May 2019.
'The family and the Estate wish to make clear that they did not approve of, authorise or participate in the making of this film.
'They do not endorse it or its content in any way.'

Lily also stars in the crime thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, a biopic of serial killer Ted Bundy, also starring Zac Efron.
The actress plays the killer's girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer in the flick, which comes out in May.
Lily recently told how she would often wake up at 3am from dreams involving a 'struggle' and sometimes felt like Bundy's victims were with her.
Speaking to The Guardian, she explained: 'I would go downstairs and have a cup of tea, trying to figure out why I had woken up again.
'I started being woken up by flashes of images, like the aftermath of a struggle... I discovered that 3am is the time when the veil between the realms is the thinnest and one can be visited.'
Despite feeling like she was almost being haunted by those killed by Bundy - who murdered more than 30 girls and women in the 1970s - Lily admitted she actually 'felt supported' by their possible presence.
She added: 'I didn't feel scared - I felt supported. I felt like people were saying: "We're here listening. We're here to support. Thank you for telling the story." '
