Alanyaspor players paid their respects to Josef Sural on Monday after the Czech Republic striker was killed in a minibus crash. Sural's former colleagues were visibly moved by the ceremony in Antalya in Turkey. A board in tribute to Sural, who was 28-year-old, read 'we will never forget you'.  

Sympathy was in short supply from Ajax Amsterdam manager Erik ten Hag for injury-hit Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their Champions League semi-final first leg clash on Tuesday. Hosts Tottenham are without a string of key players, including strikers Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, for the game in north London and were also involved in a derby against West Ham United on Saturday while Ajax rested. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has said Ajax have an unfair advantage because the whole of the Dutch league programme was postponed to help Ten Hag's side prepare.

PORTO U19S 3-1 CHELSEA U19S - ADAM SHERGOLD AT THE STADE COLOVRAY: Chelsea hopes of winning a record third UEFA Youth League title were dashed by a streetwise Porto, who deservedly claimed the crown for the first time. The Blues’ powers of recovery in this competition this season have been exceptional but Porto simply would not be reeled in as Dinamo Zagreb and Barcelona were in earlier rounds. Another spectacular comeback did look likely when Daishawn Redan cancelled out Fabio Vieira’s opener early in the second-half, but Porto simply kicked up to another gear. 

Denis Suarez has revealed he has been ruled out for the rest of the season after playing just 95 minutes of football for Arsenal.  The 25-year-old joined the north London club on-loan from Barcelona in January but has found his time at the Emirates curtailed by a groin complaint. He has failed to make a single start for Arsenal, despite costing the club £3.2million, including his £55,000 per week wages and £2.5m signing-on fee. Suarez, who has played just 67 minutes worth of football in the Premier League, revealed the news in an emotional statement on Twitter, writing that he was 'angry' about is injury but 'health comes first'. Embarrassingly for the Spaniard, his comparatively few first-team minutes leaves him trailing behind fellow Arsenal loan flop Kim Kallstrom, who played 135 minutes for the club despite an injury-plagued temporary move back in January 2014.

Manchester City enjoyed that winning feeling on Monday as they recovered from a crucial 1-0 victory over Burnley in the company of double award winner Raheem Sterling.  The 24-year-old scooped the PFA Young Player of the Year award over the weekend and was voted the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year on Monday. He also played a key role in City's vital 1-0 win at Turf Moor on Sunday as Pep Guardiola's side retook first place in the Premier League.

Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertongthen, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez have been gearing up for their huge reunion with Ajax on Tuesday night in the Champions League. Both teams have surprised in the Champions League this season to get to the semi-final stage, with Spurs beating Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City while Ajax have seen off European giants Juventus and Real Madrid.

Manchester United stars Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford went for some retail therapy after the 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford.  The pair were spotted leaving Harvey Nichols in Manchester city centre on Monday afternoon.  Lingard sported a black Givenchy hoodie and a cap while Rashford wore a black Yves Saint Laurent hoodie and a beanie hat.

LA Galaxy ran out narrow 2-1 winners, with former Inter Milan, Barcelona, PSG and Manchester United striker Ibrahimovic netting the winner in the 78th minute at Dignity Health Sports Park. However, it wasn't his match-winner that got everyone talking but instead his controversial celebration. After slotting home from close range, Ibrahimovic turned and walked towards Salt Lake defender Nedum Onuoha, before celebrating and shouting right in front of his face.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has raised hopes that he will be there next season after appearing in promotional material wearing the club's new home kit. The Belgian has been constantly linked with a move to Real Madrid and appears to be edging closer to the exit door at Stamford Bridge.  Zinedine Zidane has returned to the managerial hot-seat at the Bernabeu and is poised to run the rule over the Madrid squad, with Hazard reportedly high on his shopping list. 

Mercedes were the stars of the show once again in 2019 as Valtteri Bottas led home another one-two in front of Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. It marks a fourth straight one-two finish for the Silver Arrows as they take a strangle hold on both the drivers' and constructors' championships. But even on an unusual quiet afternoon on track, there was plenty going on under the radar as Sportsmail looks at the things you may have missed from Baku.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is experiencing a difficult period between the sticks at the moment. The Spaniard has made a string of glaring errors in recent performances prompting cause for concern for United. However, de Gea's stats this season do not imply that he's just stuck in a rut.
