Too posh for carrying sweaty trainers in! Victoria Beckham is selling a drawstring leather gym bag with a whopping £795 price tag

  • The drawstring bag comes in both black and white - along with a hefty price tag
  • It has brand's logo and ‘36 Dover Street’ - the flagship store - embossed on front
  • One unimpressed shopper wrote on Twitter: 'I'm sorry but are those trash bags?'

While a drawstring gym bag is likely to set back the average fitness fanatic around £9.99, Victoria Beckham is selling a leather equivalent for a whopping £795.

The fashion mogul, 44, uploaded a photo to her Twitter account showcasing the slouchy bag, which features the brand's logo and has ‘36 Dover Street’ - the flagship store in London - embossed on the front.

The ex-spice girl's designs are regularly worn by a host of stars including Meghan Markle, Kendall Jenner and Lady Gaga.

However, despite the celebrity influence, one shopper has been left unconvinced of it's worth and took to social media to let her feelings be known.

Posting a picture of a white dustbin bag, she penned: 'I'm sorry but are those actual trash bags?'

Based on the branded Victoria Beckham bag given to customers who shop in the Dover Street store, the product, which is 52cm tall and 35m in width, is dubbed a 'playful nod to the brand’s 10 year anniversary.'

On the website, the 'super soft' drawstring bag which was seen in her Spring Summer 18 runway show, can be seen clutched loosely against the model's body.

Made from 'smooth white nappa' that has been lined with cotton for an extra soft feel, the product description on the website reads: 'It has a simple construction, with contrasting red drawstring pulls and a thin red leather strap to wear the bag across the shoulder.'

The product can be used as a 'shoulder bag or handheld' and is available in both black and white - at the same price.

It has previously been reported that Victoria's fashion label had netted a loss of £10.2million in 2017.

The ex-Spice Girl's luxury clothing, glasses and accessories business recently celebrated its 10th anniversary - but losses have increased by £2million in the past 12 months.

The label's loss, worth around £27,000-a-day, came despite revenues growing 17 per cent to £42.5million in 2017.

The fashion label, which has a flagship store in Mayfair, London and sells items such as coats for up to £2,900 each, posted an £8.4million loss in 2016.
