Zac Efron has an abs showdown with his own wax figure on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

He wasn't a fan of his High School Musical-era wax figurine, but Zac Efron is warming up to his updated doppelgänger.

The 31-year-old Beach Bum star had an up close and personal encounter with his wax figure from Madame Tussauds Hollywood during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Tuesday.

He flashed his rock-hard abs after Ellen wanted to judge the accuracy of the statue.

Ellen opened the segment with a comparison of Zac's previous wax figure, which tried to match his shaggy Disney-era haircut, but paired it with an unflattering outfit and a face that barely resembled his own.

'Oh s***!' he cried out when Ellen surprised him with the replacement, dressed to look like Zac from the 2017 Baywatch reboot.

He praised the new version, but also warned viewers not to think his well-muscled look is necessarily ideal.

'They did a good job. It's a little bigger than me — that's too big,' he said.

'And for guys, that's unrealistic. I got very big and buff for that movie, but I don't want people to think that's the best way to be. Be your size. I don't want to glamorize this.'

'But this, this is so easy,' joked Ellen as she lifted up his shirt to show off his still-impressive abs.

Not necessary: He praised the new version, but in an acknowledgment of the body positivity movement, reminded men that the well-muscled look isn't essential

The crowd full of cheering women showed that the former teen heartthrob had lost none of his appeal. Ellen opened by laying on the compliments.

'You're so sweet. You're the nicest guy, you are just such a good man.'

'Back at you,' he replied, before correcting himself. 'Back at you, woman.'

The two bonded over their recent hair problems. Both had been shedding their dyed blonde hair after overzealous bleaching sessions.

Ellen showed off some shirtless photos of Zac from a desert trip he made while visiting Dubai, which sent the audience into another tizzy.

Then, he opened up about another trip, this time to Park City, Utah, for the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where he premiered the Ted Bundy film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile.

'I was looking forward to the next day [after the premiere] when I could go skiing,' he said. 'I woke up, got a good review, and then my brother and I went cat skiing,' referring to being dragged up a totally pristine private mountain by a tractor.

'No one skies the snow at all, and it was like eight to ten feet of fresh powder.'

The untouched snow allowed him to fly down the slope, but it also made it difficult to slow down, which he found out after take a brutal fall.

'I stood up on [my leg] and I tried to put my other ski on and [the injured leg] just gave out,' he said, recounting how he tore his ACL.

However, he wasn't aware of the damage at the time, so he refused to wait for a sled to carry him down.

'They offered me that, but it was gonna take too long and I didn't know I'd torn my ACL,' he said. 'I just thought it hurt, so I skied down the mountain on one leg.'

Zac fit in a plug for his new Netflix film, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile, in which he stars as serial killer Ted Bundy.

'I am not into portraying a serial killer, or anybody of this nature, or glamorizing them in any way,' he clarified, before explaining how happy he was with the film's restrained tone and introspection.

'Ted Bundy was a clean-cut white person, so talk about white privilege,' he added. 'What he got away with back then, nobody would be able to get away with today.'

Ellen ended the segment by rewarding Zac with a basket full of her own branded underwear, after he complained earlier that she only gives one pair per appearance.
