Love for Arya: The shout-out referred to Sunday night's Game of Thrones episode, The Long Night, where Arya Stark shockingly killed The Night King
Drake's shout-out was in reference to Sunday night's Game of Thrones episode, The Long Night, where Arya Stark shockingly killed The Night King.
Arya's surprise attack not only killed The Night King, but every other white walker under his command, bringing the Battle of Winterfell to an end.
There was also another Game of Thrones connection to the Billboard Music Awards, with Sophie Turner, who plays Arya's sister Sansa Stark, presenting with her X-Men: Dark Phoenix star Tye Sheridan.
Drake even used the long-held theory that he 'curses' sports teams whose jersey he wears, and gave it a Game of Thrones twist.
The Toronto-born rapper was seen at a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game, with a Maple Leafs jersey that had an image of The Night King on the front, instead of the Maple Leafs emblem.
As it turned out, using that 'curse' to his advantage worked, as Arya killed the Night King with her valyrian steel blade during The Long Night.
