Social media has erupted over a video of Bill Shorten's very unique running style.  The leader of the opposition, who is often spotted exercising in public, was filmed sprinting across the Martagarup Bridge in Perth on Monday. After footage of the morning jog was posted on Instagram, social media users were quick to share hilarious comments ridiculing the politician's awkward stride.   

The white brick fence and beige facade of a historic 1920s home hides the incredible open back veranda and light-filled interior that architects worked so hard to construct (pictured main). That's what makes the sweetly named Floodlight House in Dynnyrne, Tasmania, such a mesmerising piece of work, with its ingenious garden-framing extension a far cry from the cold entryway (inset).

NEW The daughter of rugby league hardman Mark Geyer has sued the owner of a Facebook page who shared a screengrab of a video falsely claiming to show her having sex with an NRL player. The 'NRL Memes' Facebook page shared a still image from the video in March, claiming it showed Montanna Geyer (left, right with her father Mark) having sex with Penrith Panthers player Tyrone May (inset). 'The bird in the Tyrone May video is Mark Geyer's daughter. Happy days at Penrith,' the post was captioned.

Not every risk pays off. And the evidence was there for all to see on the red carpet of the Billboard Music Awards this Wednesday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leading the worst-dressed was Poppy, 24, whose enormous black outfit looked like a rejected sketch from the art department of HBO's hit fantasy series Game Of Thrones.

Blake Alvey appeared on the show with his fiancée Cassie Rutter in May 2018. The show also brought out his friend and they fought before being separated. Two weeks later, Alvey killed himself. His family have now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Springer and the network. The suit claims Alvey killed himself 'as a result of severe emotional and mental suffering and anguish' and accuses Springer of 'reckless disregard for the lives of others'.

James Packer has sparked rumours he's undergone more weight loss surgery after taking a stroll in Los Angeles wearing what appears to be a medical device. A thin tube was visible underneath the businessman's blue polo shirt as he walked through the grounds of UCLA with his personal trainer in tow. The Australian billionaire underwent lap band surgery in 2011 and UCLA has a world-renowned obesity treatment centre, but it is unclear if James is a patient there.

Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn has married his long-term consort and given her the title Queen Suthida just days before his coronation, in a surprise move. Photos showed Suthida Vajiralongkorn na Ayudhya, a former Thai Airways flight attendant, laying on the floor as she was given a gift by the king during the marriage ceremony. She 'legally married' the king in accordance with royal traditions, an announcement in the Royal Gazette said. The relationship between the King and his new Queen has been compared to the famous musical The King and I which follows strong-willed, widowed schoolteacher Anna Leonowens, who arrives in Bangkok at the request of the King of Siam to tutor his children.

Jude Law has married Phillipa Coan in an intimate wedding in London on Tuesday. The actor, 46, and Phillipa, 32, decided to shun a Hollywood guest list and invited only their closest friends and family to the nuptials, which took place at Old Marylebone Town Hall. Back in February, fiancée Phillipa confirmed the pair were engaged after a four-year romance.  

Australian men holidaying in Bali have filmed themselves in a series of obscene videos as they run naked through the streets, urinate on roundabouts and scream at locals. The group of at least five men appear drunk while wreaking havoc in the streets, and cheer each other on while damaging property and hanging their naked bodies out of a moving party bus. The disgusting video of the unknown young men was captured on their tour guide's Snapchat on Saturday, as they abuse drivers and climb telephone poles.

With Emperor Naruhito's ascension to the Chrysanthemum throne, his wife Masako (top left earlier today) becomes the Empress Consort of Japan (together today top right). But the new empress suffers from stress and anxiety and has relinquished royal duties for almost two decades, since the birth of her daughter in 2002. Masako (pictured bottom centre at Oxford university in 1989, bottom right at a state dinner with U.S. President Bill Clinton in 1993) has had a troubled relationship with the Japanese media, who marked her out as different from the moment she married Naruhito in 1993 (bottom left). She was criticized for having career of her own and being taller than her husband, and put under intense pressure to produce a male heir. This saw her diagnosed with stress and depression in 2004, but ahead of her new role Masako, 55, has slowly been reintroduced to public life.

It's all systems go for newly-engaged Bachelor couple Matty J and Laura Byrne. Following Matty's romantic proposal over the weekend in Fiji, the soon-to-be parents were pictured stocking up on baby supplies in Sydney on Tuesday.  Ahead of Laura's due date in June, the 33-year-old told Who on Thursday that they're yet to complete their nursery as they're in the process of moving house. 

Hollywood's Chateau Marmont is legendary for the antics celebrities got into at the iconic hotel. The establishment 'wasn't a don't-ask-don't-tell zone but rather a haven', writes author Shawn Levy in his new book, The Castle on Sunset, out May 7. Lindsay Lohan got booted out of the hotel in 2012 after racking up a $46,000 tab in two months, but not before she posed sultrily in her room for photographer Terry Richardson a month before (left). Britney Spears (inset) had a breakdown in the dinner room smearing food across her face and body in 2007, leading management to send her packing. And in the closet actors Anthony Perkins and Tab Hunter (top right) met poolside and began a secret affair - until studio execs told Perkins to cut Hunter loose. Levy adds: 'An open city of fifty-odd rooms, it harbored misfits, freaks, iconoclasts, outcasts, deviants, seekers, refugees, experimentalists and anyone else who might feel constrained in the pigeonholes of another Hollywood hotel'.

Sickening footage has emerged of a man wearing a hi-vis vest and a black hoodie choking a dog.  The man was caught on camera holding the dog by his neck with one hand while grabbing the animal's nose with other on a street in Brompton in Adelaide's inner-north. A group of women, including the one filming the incident, are heard begging the man to let the dog go.

French car-maker Bugatti has confirmed it found a buyer for its La Voiture Noire sports car (top) and reports in Spanish newspapers suggest the owner is Cristiano Ronaldo (bottom right). The Juventus and Portugal star is known for his taste in expensive cars, and already owns at least one other Bugatti - a £1.7million Veyron (pictured bottom left and centre) - along with models by Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren and Bentley. Bugatti's latest model is a one-off styled after the the classic Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic, only four of which were ever built, and can reach speeds of 260mph.

Body modification artist Steve Haworth, of Phoenix, Arizona, is world-renowned and has previously won the Guinness World Record for 'most advanced body modification artist'. His controversial works aren't easy to miss - one of his innovations include the 'Metal Mohawk' where spikes protrude from the scalp and modifications for Dennis Avner, the Nevada man who spent years trying to morph his body into that of a cat. The so-called flesh engineer has also invented a line of implants to go under the skin to create elevated designs, such as crosses, skulls, and even a grenade.

Republican US congressman Mario Diaz-Balart claims Russia has already installed nuclear missiles in Venezuela, hours after the country almost descended into civil war. When asked whether he thought Russia would put nuclear weapons in Venezuela he replied: 'What I'm suggesting, is that they already have'. Mike Pompeo (left inset) said that President Trump 'has been very clear' that he is prepared to take military action in Venezuela 'if that's what's required', raising the prospect of conflict with Russia which is a staunch ally of President Nicolas Maduro and is thought to have mercenaries in the country protecting him. Pompeo spoke out Wednesday as opposition leader Juan Guaido (main picture), who America is backing, urged demonstrators on to the streets for a second day, after he declared the start of a 'military uprising' on Tuesday. That quickly descended into a series of violence skirmishes on the streets of the capital Caracas and elsewhere that left at least one dead and 100 injured.

Iranian bodybuilder Sajad Gharibi, 27, (pictured) weighs 390 pounds and stands 6 ft 2 inches tall. His huge frame and bulging muscles have earned himself the name of Iranian Hulk or Persian Hercules, and he has made his name as a weightlifter until now. But earlier this year Gharibi announced on Instagram that he intended to move into MMA, and last week revealed he will fight a Brazilian challenger before the end of the year - but did not name him.

The unnamed woman was photographed sitting in a park in Paris while sharing her story with Humans of New York, the popular social media account started by photographer Brandon Stanton. It's been nearly nine months since her husband Claude died after a sudden fall, and she has been coping with her grief by writing in a journal. The widow said she had known her husband since they were 14 years old and recalled how they used to walk in the park together. She recently dreamed of Claude standing a doorway wearing all red, and she noted that she believes she will see him again. The woman's story has received nearly 500,000 Instagram likes and more than 237,000 reactions on Facebook since it was posted on Monday. Even actress Zoe Saldana commented on the post, thanking photographer Brandon Stanton for sharing such powerful stories.

Jimmy Silva, 34, and ChaCha Sahagun (seen with green hair), 31, from California, have been together for a decade and started dating Summer Pelletier (seen with red hair), 25, after they both fell for her after meeting at a business event in 2012. The trio started dating but kept their relationship open and spent years experimenting. Kayan women, who live on the border between Myanmar and Thailand, are given the weighty rings when they turn five. They will wear the impressive jewellery throughout their lives. Although the women appear to have stretched necks, in reality it is their shoulders that have been altered by the accessories. As the weight of the coils press down, the clavicle is lowered, and with each additional neck ring it falls further, compressing the rib cage as well. The shoulders finally fall away to give the appearance of an elongated neck. Lebanese photographer Omar Reda, 34, took the striking shots while exploring different tribal societies in South East Asia.

Jay Barham was 17 when he fell in love with mum-of-two Linda, then 51, in 2000. The pair, from Hardcourt, Essex, bonded during driving lessons over their love of music. A groom ignored his bride and played on a games console during their wedding. He didn't even stop furiously tapping away on PlayerUnknown's Battleground, similar to Fortnite, when he received a present in Siliguri city, India. A dreamy wedding video shows him fixated on his phone while his wife-to-be looks less than impressed. Like Fortnite, the game pits 100 players in a digital battle for survival. Health professionals have warned Fortnite could harm children as its addictive nature can cause kids to get less sleep and disrupt their schoolwork. Prince Harry has called for Fortnite to be banned.

The reactor (right) was dismantled by US soldiers (inset) at the end of WWII, and the uranium cubes (left) - which had been buried by the Nazis - were shipped to America.There were not enough cubes in the reactor to make it fully operational, but enough cubes existed across Germany to have completed the design, the researchers found.

Police believe 12-year-old Muriel Drinkwater (left) might have been a victim of a notorious serial killer when she was raped and murdered in 1946. And they now hope a stain on Muriel's coat will link her death to serial killer Harold Jones (right) - a murderer known as Jack the Stripper. Jones killed two young girls when he was just 15 and was jailed for 20 years. But he was later released and served in World War II before his military career ended in 1946. And four months after Jones left the army Muriel was raped and murdered as she walked home from a school bus in Penllergaer, Swansea. Historian Neil Milkins has spent 12 years examining Muriel's murder - and thinks Jones could well be her killer.
