Late last month, an Us Weekly insider shared that 'Emma and Garrett have been friends, but this is new, casual, and just a couple of weeks old.'
The fresh couple 'have gone on a few casual dates and are exploring a relationship,' a source spilled to E! News.
The insider added that Emma and Evan 'had their ups and downs for a while now and were really trying to make it work,' but 'their split was a long time coming.'
A different source explained to Us Weekly: 'Emma and Evan were heading for a split and now are just friends. Evan has moved out. It wasn’t a bad breakup.'

Garrett, who starred in the 2010 drama Country Strong and will feature in this year's action film Triple Frontier, dated Kirsten Dunst for four years until 2016.
Emma and Evan first got together in 2012 while playing opposite each other in the 2013 film Adult World, beginning a romance famous for its drama.
Amid a stream of breakups and reunions was a particularly nasty 2013 quarrel in a Montreal hotel that culminated in Emma getting arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and Evan declining to press charges.
Emma's representative gave a statement to Entertainment Tonight at the time on the 'unfortunate incident and misunderstanding,' saying: 'Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it.'
