Walking Dead star Tom Payne looks unrecognizable without beard as he gets a playful karate kick from fiancee Jennifer Akerman

The Walking Dead star Tom Payne and his fiancee Jennifer Akerman were all smiles as they walked to a gym together in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The 36 year old actor and his 29 year old fiancee, a model and the younger sister of actress Malin Akerman, were in a playful mood as they went to work out.

Akerman was spotted giving her fiance a playful karate kick to the backside before they went into the gym to work out.

Akerman was wearing a yellow t-shirt that was tied off to expose her midriff, with a grey hoodie over it.

She also wore black spandex shorts and off-white Adidas sneakers and Aviator sunglasses with a purse slung over her shoulder.

Payne and Akerman have been dating since 2013, but back in late November, during an appearance on The Walking Dead after-show Talking Dead, Payne revealed he popped the question to Akerman.

'I got the call like, an episode before and I was texting my girlfriend, now fiancée,' he said, referring to the call that his character Paul 'Jesus' Rovia was going to be killed off.

Payne's character Jesus was first introduced in the 10th episode of Season 6, and he became a valuable character up until his death in the Season 9 mid-season finale.

Now a criminal psychologist, Bright helps the NYPD solve crimes and track down the city's most dangerous killers.

Payne was actually a last-minute casting replacement for the network's original choice, Iron Fist star Finn Jones, with a cast that also features Aurora Perrineau, Halston Sage and Michael Sheen.
