SPOILER ALERT: Sand Snakes on a boat! Euron turns butcher in deadly naval raid... as Jon Snow threatens to kill Littlefinger on Game Of Thrones
Piracy has always been a bane of seafarers.
And that proved to be the case for Daenerys and her allies when Euron Greyjoy became a butcher on the high seas during a daring naval raid on Game Of Thrones on Sunday.
The King of the Iron Islands brutally killed off two of the show's unpopular Sand Snake characters, and ultimately captured Dornish ruler Ellaria Sand and pretender to his throne Yara, in a thrilling ending to the episode
The butcher of the Iron Islands: Euron showcased his unique seafaring style on Game Of Thrones on Sunday
Leading from the front, Euron and his motley crew managed to completely overwhelm the flagship which, in an obvious failure of command, housed Dornish ruler Ellaria, her direct heirs the Sand Snakes, Yara Greyjoy and her brother Theon.
He then single-handedly slayed both Obara and Nymeria Sand before besting Yara in combat and taunting his nephew Theon.
He said: 'Little Theon. Now come on you c**kless hound. I have her - come and get her. '
The latter displayed his usual fortitude when he fearlessly leapt into the water rather than take on his uncle in a bid to rescue his sibling.
Kaboom: He caused chaos by ramming into Yara's flagship and setting it alight
Splitting headache: And he showed he is father tasty in a fight wielding a big weapon
Sand Snakes on a boat: The unpopular characters decided to lock horns with the captain
Bondage man: During one of the fights he was repeatedly whipped
Ruh-roh: But slowly but surely he began to gain the upper hand
And it looks like Euron will be sailing into King's Landing as a hero after capturing some of Daenerys Targaryen's key allies, who had been sailing south at her behest in an attempt to besiege the capital.
Ellaria and her daughter Tyene, her eldest child with Oberyn Martell, will surely be in for a warm welcome from Cersei.
For it was the former who vengefully poisoned the queen's beloved daughter Myrcella Baratheon, who died in the arms of her true father Jaime Lannister as they sailed back to King's Landing after a seemingly peaceful stay in Dorne.
Crushed underfoot: He first made sure Obara Sand met a violent end
Whip smart: He then used Nymeria's own weapon to throttle her
Taunter: Euron mocked his 'c**kless* nephew Theon and demanded he come forward
He who runs away: But Theon decided a swift departure was the better part of valour
Whether Cersei will now opt to take Euron as her husband after he promised to return with a 'gift' in a bid to woo her remains to be seen.
Meanwhile Jon Snow had a fiery confrontation with creepy Petyr Baelish in the crypts of Winterfell.
The King In The North threatened to kill Littlefinger if he lays a finger on his sister Sansa.
He made the declaration while his hands were around latter's throat, moments after he declared affection for for his cousin/sister, saying, 'I love Sansa as I loved her mother.'
Cunning move: If he can evade death for long enough he will end up with the throne by default
Rudely interrupted: Ellaria Sand had been in the process of seducing Yara
Passion killer: Their lovemaking session was brought to a halt by Euron's deadly raid
Cersei will be pleased: Flamboyant Euron is using the Sand Snakes as bow ornaments
Angry Jon told him: 'Touch my sister and I'll kill you myself. '
Baelish made his move after the newly crowned king put Sansa in charge of the kingdom in his stead.
He declared in front of yet another council of the houses of the North that he would take up Daenerys offer to meet her in Dragonstone, revealing he hopes to strike an alliance.
He said: 'We can never hope to defeat (the White Walkers) alone. We need powerful allies. I know it's a risk but I have to take it.'
Confession: Creepy Littlefinger told Jon Snow he was infatuated with his sister
Not giving his blessing: But the move backfired when Jon throttled and threatened to kill him
And he's off: But did not even warn sister Sansa of Littlefinger's behaviour as he left Winterfell
Object of attention: Petyr Baelish told Jon he loves Sansa like he adored her mother
It could be a short meeting however, as the self-styled Mother Of Dragons said Jon will have to 'bend the knee' upon arrival.
As Jon left Sansa gave him a friendly wave, completely unaware of the confrontation that had just occurred between her brother and her wannabe suitor.
Meanwhile Arya Stark abandoned her plan to kill Cersei, and seemingly allowed Ed Sheeran to live to fight another day as his band of soldiers did not make a return appearance.
Instead she leapt on her horse after a catch-up chat with her old pal Hot Pie, deciding to head north after learning her family were once again controlling Winterfell.
Here she comes: Scrappy Stark changed course and is heading for Winterfell
Pie and a pint: She makes the decision after being filled in on all that has happened so far on the show by the most knowledgeable cook in all of Westeros, her old pie Hot Pie
And when she stopped to set up camp she bumped into another old acquaintance - her direwolf Nymeria.
The terrified unstoppable assassin found herself surrounded by a growling wolf pack, when the biggest of the lot crept up behind her.
Kneeling before the beast, Arya said: 'Nymeria its me Arya. I'm heading north girl. Back to Winterfell.
'I'm finally going home,. Come with me.'
Bending the knee: Arya showed deference to her much larger former pet direwolf
A bit miffed: It seems Nymeria is still peeved that Arya forced her to flee after defending her from rotter Joffrey in season one
And off she goes: However it seems more than likely she will make another appearance
Instead the beast and the pack chose to leave, however Arya insisted, 'That's not you,' suggesting there will be further encounters in the future.
Meanwhile Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Elaria Sand and Yara Greyjoy hatched an unnecessarily complicated plan to take the whole of Westeros with a minimum of bloodshed.
The four chatted as they loitered around the table-map of Westeros in Danerys' newly reclaimed castle on Dragonstone, and laid the foundations for the later disastrous sailing expedition.
Rather than taking their enormous army and navy, as well as their deadly dragons, south to King's Landing, they opted to spread their forces in different directions.
War room: But Daenerys cunning plan already seems to be going off the rails
You bring this up now? After several years of faithful service Daenerys calls Varys loyalty into question
A eunuch solution: They agree to continue working together as long as Varys promises to tell her if she is being an awful queen
Clearly delighting in the cunning plan, Tyrion explained that while the Dornish and Tyrell forces laid siege to the capital the rest of their number would head to the Lannister's seat of power in Casterly Rock.
Offering Daenerys counsel afterwards, Olenna Tyrell said: 'Hes a clever man your hand. I've seen many clever men and I've outlived them all.
'The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No. you're a dragon. Be a dragon.'
During the meeting Tyrion sparred with Ellaria in their first meeting since her lover Prince Oberyn died at the hands of The Mountain while representing him in his trial by combat.
Tyrion also had a bone to pick with her since she poisoned his niece Myrcella Baratheon.
But she told him: 'She was a Lannister there are no innocent Lannisters. My only regret is Oberyn died fighting for you.'
Bad penny: Red priestess Melisandre has decided to hitch her wagon to yet another aspiring ruler.
Well fancy that: Linguist Missandei corrects the blundering duo by revealing the translation should actually say 'prince or princess that is promised'
Meanwhile Daenerys bizarrely decides, after many a year, to complain that Varys had worked for her father, and then for Robert Baratheon.
They soon make up after he promised to tell her honestly if she is failing in her role as ruler, rather than embarking on yet another of his treacherous plots.
And, in a stunning twist, Missandei reveals Daenerys may be the 'prince who is promised' after all, as she points out that in High Valaryian the phrase actually means 'prince or princess who is promised.'
It emerges as they are chatting with red priestess Melisandre, who has decided to hitch her wagon to yet another aspiring ruler.
No doubt fans are hoping Daernerys fares better than her last employer Stannis Baratheon.
And Donald Trump thinks he has problems: Queen Cersei attempts to rally followers to her cause
Hard sell: Even her tiny band of potential followers do not seem convinced
Cunning plan: Her ally Qyburn showed her a weapon that may be able to kill her rival's dragons - an enormous crossbow
Meanwhile Cersei, dressed much like the Evil Queen in Snow White, tried to rally some former Tyrell bannermen to her cause, pointing out the parallels between Daenerys bloodthirsty ruling style and that of her father Aerys II Targaryen.
She said: 'You remember the Mad King. You remember the horrors she inflicted on the people. She crucified thousands of noblemen in Slaver’s Bay. When she grew bored of that, she fed them to her dragons.'
And her dark ally Qyburn showed her a prototype for taking out her rival's dragons - an enormous crossbow.
Finally Sam decided to try make his first attempt at performing surgery - by performing a banned procedure he read about in a book, which has been banned for being too dangerous, on Ser Jorah Mormont in an attempt to cure his greyscale.
Book worm: Sam Tarly learns from Archmaester Marwyn it is forbidden to try and help Jorah in Oldtown
This might sting a bit: However he decides to attempt a very dangerous surgical procedure written in a book
Don't scream: He has to chew on leather as his new friend attempts to carve off all the greyscale on his body
Meanwhile: Missandei and her eunuch friend Grey Worm become lovers
