Waka Flocka Flame cancels free concert after shooting at UNC Charlotte

Waka Flocka Flame has cancelled his free concert at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The cancellation was due to a deadly shooting that took place on campus only hours before the show was supposed to begin.

The 32-year-old rapper made the announcement via a post to his Instagram stories around 7pm ET.

'I pray all my fans are safe and ok!, began the Round of Applause rapper in his note.

He continued, 'It sure what's going on, I just landed in Charlotte to terry news!

'I will not be able to perform even make it to the venue.. please to all my supporters and followers be safe!'

Students were on their way to Jerry Richardson Stadium to see the rapper Waka Flocka Flame to mark the last day of classes when the shooting occurred.

Two people were killed and four others were wounded in the shooting, three remain in critical condition.

According to CBS, the police have taken one suspect into custody, Trystan Andrew Terrell, 22.

An individual who appears to fit Terrell's description was seen smirking as he was led into the police station after allegedly killing two people and wounding four others on campus on Tuesday.

Terrell was a history major at the school before dropping out this semester, according to WCNC-TV.

The Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services Agency has said two people were found dead at the scene, two others have life-threatening injuries and two others have injuries that are not life-threatening.
