Avengers: Endgame set a new standard for Hollywood blockbusters this weekend with stunning hauls of $357 million in North America and $1.2 billion worldwide, industry data showed Monday.

Meanwhile, it's being reported that Downey has a special arrangement with Marvel studio chief Kevin Feige and receives a sizable chunk of back-end profits on each of the movies he works on.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that thanks to a killer deal in his contract the 54-year-old star likely received at least $75 million from 2018's Infinity War which grossed $2 billion at the box office.

And for just three days of work in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was released in 2017, the actor received $5 million.

THR reports that the bonus structure is changing for the other stars with the studio raising the threshold with increased box office takings.

An agent with insider knowledge of deal-making tells THR that not long ago a bonus would kick in after the $500 million global mark. The threshold then became $700 million.

Nowadays, when it comes to Avengers movies, bonuses don't kick in until the movie gets to $1.5 billion.
