Game of Thrones photos for new episode teases the aftermath of the epic Battle of Winterfell

With fans waiting impatiently for Sunday night new episode of Game of Thrones, HBO has released eight new photos.

The photos from the episode, the title of which has still not yet been revealed, showcases the aftermath of the epic Battle of Winterfell.

Last week's epic episode, The Long Night, set records as the longest episode of Game of Thrones (82 minutes) and the battle scene is the longest ever seen on either film or television.

The first of eight photos shows a battle-worn Jon Snow (Kit Harington), seen with a large abrasion on his face.

With his iconic sword Longclaw at his side, Snow is seen holding a wooden staff, which could be a long torch used for a funeral pyre, seen in the second photo.

The next image shows Snow, along with Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Samwell Tarly (John Bradley), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) all walking to piles of corpses to set them ablaze.

The third image takes fans back to King's Landing, with a rather pleased Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) looking out a window, with Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) behind her.

Cersei and Euron were nowhere to be seen in the last two episodes, which focused on the preparation and the actual Battle of Winterfell.

In the Season 8 premiere, though, Euron brought back The Golden Company, an army of mercenaries ('sellswords,' as they're referred to on the show), and Cersei also took Euron as her lover, with Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) abandoning her.

HBO released a trailer for the upcoming episode after Sunday's The Long Night, where Dany claimed victory in the 'Great War.

She added that they will now win, 'the last war,' against Cersei, to take the Iron Throne, stating she'll 'rip her out root and stem.'

The fourth of six episodes in Game of Thrones' final season debuts Sunday, May 5 at 9 PM ET on HBO.
