She's never afraid to speak her truth.

And Busy Philipps defended the rights of 'women and their doctors' during an episode of her late night talk show on Tuesday night.

'The statistic is that one in four women will have an abortion before age 45,' she said. 'That statistic sometimes surprises people, and maybe you're sitting there thinking, "I don't know a woman who would have an abortion." Well, you know me.'

She added that the new law would 'put more women at risk' as they would now have to seek out dangerous or illegal forms of reproductive health measures.

'I know that people feel very strongly about abortion, but let me just say this: Women and their doctors are in the best position to make informed decisions about what is best for them,' she said. 'Nobody else ... Nobody.'

Last year, Busy revealed she turned to the Pope for advice during a school trip after she had an abortion at the age of 15.

In her book This Will Only Hurt a Little, Philipps' added that her parents discovered the news by reading her diary, and that at the time her mother told her she was 'being selfish' and was 'going to murder a baby.'

Busy added ultimately her mother supported her through the heartbreaking experience, as she said: 'My mother is who you want in your corner.'

After having the abortion, she went on a school trip to the Vatican in Rome, Italy, where she spoke with the leader of the Catholic Church seeking reassurance.

In September, Busy shared an emotional post on her Instagram where she shared that she had been raped at the age of 14, around the time the picture was taken.

She wrote: 'This is me at 14. The age I was raped. It's taken me 25 years to say those words. I wrote about it in my book. I finally told my parents and sister about it 4 months ago. Today is the day we are silent no more.'

She alleged in October that James Franco assaulted her on the set of TV sitcom Freaks & Geeks, writing in her book that the actor physically attacked her in front of the cast and crew.

She explained in her book that she was directed to gently hit Franco on the chest as she delivered a line but he broke character and shouted at her before shoving her, RadarOnline reported.

'He grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, 'DON'T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!'' the book details.  'And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me.'

She also said that although witnesses rushed to help her up and co-star Linda Cardellini told her to notify her manager, Franco was never properly reprimanded.

'James and I have talked about it over the years. At one point he apologized to me,' she told The Hollywood Reporter.
