Grey's Anatomy recap: Teddy goes into labor and DeLuca takes the fall for Meredith

  • WARNING:  Spoilers for Season 15, Episode 24 of Grey's Anatomy ahead
  • Meredith helps Jo out of bed and Alex finds a blood donor for Gus
  • Teddy finally reveals who she loves right before she goes into labor

Good news Grey’s fans — we have finally reached the penultimate episode of Season 15! And while our Thursday nights won't be quite the same for a while, we're eager to get all these loose ends tied up.

With just one more episode to go, the drama is really starting to kick into high gear, with one character confessing her love for another, and one deciding prison is better than 'fessing up.

Meredith decides to stay at Jo’s (Camilla Luddington) apartment until she opens up about whatever it is she’s going through. In the meantime, Alex (Justin Chambers) is staying at Meredith’s to take care of her kids.

Meredith and Jo lay in bed all day and mostly stay quiet, that is until Meredith reveals she’s still freaking out about DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) saying ‘I love you.’

It’s not that she doesn’t care for him or want to be with him, it’s just that the last person she said those three little words to is no longer here (RIP Derek).

Though Meredith tries to connect with Jo and let her know she’s also gone through dark periods, Jo reminds her she’s not the product of a rape. Welp, that shuts Meredith up real quick.

Despite all the pain and frustration, Meredith promises Jo she’s not going anywhere. And, in one of the best Grey’s monologues this season, Meredith tells Jo about all the people who wouldn’t be the same if she wasn’t around. Her evil ex-husband would still be out there tormenting his fiancée and Alex would still be ‘Evil Spawn!’

But they run into serious problems because, not only is Francis agoraphobic, her therapist ends up getting taken away due to issues with his visa.

Francis explains her fears to Owen  — mostly that she’s afraid of dying at every possible second of the day — and is deathly afraid of being in new places.

However, when Owen decides to FaceTime Alex so Francis can see little Gus, she gathers the strength necessary to leave the plane.

Speaking of Alex, he’s still trying to get his patient, Gus, a blood transfusion. He manages to find the only match in the world, an English woman named Francis, but they run into serious complications when she arrives in Seattle.

Not only is Francis agoraphobic, her therapist ends up getting taken away due to issues with his visa. Schmitt (Jake Borelli) tries to do everything he can to help Francis get off the plane, but she’s not budging.

Alex calls in reinforcements and has Owen (Kevin McKidd) go out to try and help Francis, but she ends up freaking out on him too!

However, when Owen decides to FaceTime Alex so Francis can see little Gus, she gathers the strength necessary to leave the plane. It’s a beautiful day to save lives, right?

But, while all this is going on, Miranda (Chandra Wilson) and Catherine (Debbie Allen) are stuck inside a conference room meeting with a bunch of people in suits. The doctors wonder what’s happening, but it’s not until the very end of the episode when we find out they’re investigating Meredith’s insurance fraud act from last week.

DeLuca tells Meredith he’s the one who put Ellis’s name on the paperwork (even though he wasn’t) and that it’s all his fault (even though it isn't).

For those who don’t remember, Meredith put her daughter Ellis’s name down for a surgery in order to help a little girl who didn’t have insurance of her own. This is of course insurance fraud, but Meredith was willing to take the risk to save her life. The only problem? They bring DeLuca in and question him instead.

Then, it what was probably the most dramatic last five minutes of an episode this season, DeLuca tells Meredith he’s the one who put Ellis’s name on the paperwork (even though he wasn’t) and that it’s all his fault (even though it’s not). Here comes DeLuca, trying to save the day again!

Teddy reveals to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) she’s in love with Owen (tell us something we didn't know) right before she goes into labor.

On the way back to the hospital, Owen, Schmitt, and Francis get in a car accident due to the fog, while time is running out for poor Gus.

Elsewhere, Teddy (Kim Raver) reveals to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) she’s in love with Owen (tell us something we didn't know) and Owen, Schmitt, and Francis get in a car accident on the way to the hospital due to the fog. This is too much to handle!

In next week’s massive season finale, DeLuca will face the possibility of jail time and Teddy will have her baby, but it’s still unclear if Owen, Francis, and Schmitt survive their car accident.
