Cate Blanchett properly prepared for her flight Friday morning wearing loose sweat pants and a hoodie as she made her way through the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City.

With sunglasses on Cate, 49, added an extra layer with a brown leather jacket.

The Oscar winner looked happy as she pulled her luggage through the terminal.

The two-time Academy Award winner wore her blonde tresses down with her all white apparel.

Her off-white hoodie cinched around her waist with an elastic band as the hood folded over her jacket.

Blanchett was ready for a lot of walking as she wore floral print trainers as well.

The mother-of-two has been keeping busy working on new FX series, Mrs America. 

Cate has become the latest Hollywood celebrity to switch to TV, signing on to star in the nine-episode series.

Created and written by Mad Men co-producer Dahvi Waller, the show will feature Cate as conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, who led the fight against the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).

The ERA is a proposed amendment to the US Constitution stating that equal rights may not be denied on the basis of one's sex.

The amendment was passed by the US Congress in 1972, but failed to win the backing of enough states.

Cate joins other Hollywood A-listers who have made the jump to television in recent years, including Meryl Streep, Tom Hardy and Julia Roberts. 

Also in the works are Cate's three other projects coming soon.

Blanchett will star in Where'd You Go, Bernadette, alongside Judy Greer and Kristen Wiig.

She will also be seen in short film, Sweet Tooth, and new movie, Lucy and Desi.
