Fire Prevention Permit Applications & Templates

Backyard Fire Pits

Residents living in the Urban Service Area (Fort McMurray) can obtain their backyard fire pit permits by submitting the permit application to the Fire Prevention Branch.

Residents living inside the Alberta Forest Protection Area (Fort Chipewyan, Fort MacKay, Anzac, East Draper Road, Gregoire Lake Estates, Saprae Creek, First Nations Communities, Smith Landing and Fort Fitzgerald) can obtain their free fire permits from March 1 to October 31 from the local Alberta Agriculture and Forestry office.
