Sophie Turner has finally revealed the truth about Game Of Thrones' hilarious coffee cup blunder, as she stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday.

The actress, 24, admitted she wasn't responsible for the on-screen gaffe which saw a takeaway coffee cup appear in a scene from Sunday's episode of the HBO series.

Sophie's outing also came after she recently tied the knot with singer Joe Jonas in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony.

Oops! Fans were left in hysterics when they spotted a takeaway coffee cup in a scene from the HBO fantasy epic on Sunday 

Sophie was grilled about the blunder after husband Joe made a surprise video call during the show, demanding to know the truth about the mistake.  

The video message was set up by host Jimmy Fallon as a burning question from one of her 'biggest fans' - who was then revealed to be Joe.

After appearing on-screen, the hitmaker played coy as he asked his wife: 'Hi Sophie! I'm Joe Jonas and I'm your biggest fan!'

After pointing to a photo of the cup, Sophie quipped: 'Well... look who is right by the cup... obviously it was Emilia [Clarke].'

Sophie also spoke about her surprise marriage to Joe during her late night appearance, as the couple had stunned fans by exchanging vows at the Billboard Awards in Las Vegas on May 1st at Chapel L'Amour inside A Little White Wedding Chapel. 

As Jimmy mentioned Sophie's wedding at the beginning of the interview, she excitedly punched the air in triumph.

The service was officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator and cost just $600.

The celebrity couple, who started dating in 2016, announced their engagement in October 2017, and it has been reported they are still planning a lavish wedding in France. 

Jimmy also showed a picture of the cute couple from the 2019 Met Gala on Monday as they dressed alike in glittering ensembles for this year's theme of 'camp'.

'I kept finding glitter in my bellybutton,' Sophie joked.

Sophie's appearance came after Emilia herself sent fans into a tailspin as she appeared to hint she might be responsible for the on-screen cup gaffe.

Taking to Instagram, the actress 32, referenced the editing blunder by sharing a snap of herself holding a similar looking cup while on set with co-stars Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa.

With Momoa also present on set the actress was quick to mention that her former screen husband - who was killed off during the show's first season - would not be making an unexpected return for the finale.   

'oh and this ain’t a spoiler just a lost wanderer coming home for a mid filming cuppa...' she added.

Jon and Daenerys appeared oblivious to the cup, placed on one of the hall's long trestle-tables, as their raucous celebrations kicked off the episode.

But the gaffe was not lost on eagle-eyed viewers, who promptly expressed their disbelief on social media.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: 'So this is where we're at now! A Starbucks cup!'

While another joked: 'If that’s Dany’s Starbucks coffee I feel bad for the barista who has to write her name on the cup.... hand must be cramping.'

'I missed the story arc where dany discovers pumpkin spice lattes,' wrote a third.

Another fan dismissed claims that the cup had been Photoshopped onto the scene for comical effect, writing: 'It isn’t I just rewatched the scene on hbo now is that a candle or something wtf.' (sic)

The blunder comes as season eight gears up for a dramatic climax at Kings Landing over the course of its final two episodes. 

Game of Thrones continues on HBO in the US, and is screened simultaneously at 2 AM on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK, on Sunday night.
