And from the looks of the big beaming smile on his face, the singer relished every bit of his alone time.

With the sun shining down on the big city, Mendes first stopped by to grab a cup of joe at Hugh Jackman's Laughing Man Coffee shop in the Tribeca neighborhood in downtown.

Showing his zen-like side, the Canadian native flashed a peace sign to photographers who were in the vicinity.
He also gave a nod to Jackman's coffee when he pointed to the cup and flashed a look of approval.
