John Mayer thinks the Kardashians were the ones to start rumors he was dating Kourtney
He was rumored to be dating Kourtney Kardashian.
But famous lothario John Mayer tried to set the record straight during a visit to his best friend Andy Cohen's SiriusXM studio on Monday.
After denying the fling, the Gravity singer, 41, seemed to suggest the origin of the rumor was none other than the reality TV happy family itself.

Hinting at how the Kardashians may have been behind it all, John told Andy: 'Little suspicious about the origin of the story…not sure the call’s not coming from inside the house on this one.'
He continued, commending the rumor-starters for their devious yet ingenious strategy.
'If the call is coming from inside the house…it’s diabolical and genius,' John said, 'Because when people start gossiping about you and someone else, and they start putting your pictures together, it gets real suggestive.'

He explained some of the reasons he was peeved by the gossip, telling Andy: 'The only part that made me upset, to any degree, was that somebody said that when I saw Kourtney, that I said "It was sweet serendipity running into you."'
The line was even too 'corny' for the singer, who continued: 'Which I would never say! But if you're getting paid to write the stories... If you listen to every John Mayer song and say "What's the next thing he might say based off all the lyrics you just read... It might be [that].'

Kourtney and John were first linked back in December after they were seen 'flirting' at the GQ Men Of The Year party.
An eyewitness said Mayer 'seemed very into' Kardashian and noted that he said crossing paths with her was 'sweet serendipity.'
'He seemed very into her,' an eyewitness told the publication.
Mayer was heard telling the sister of Kim and Khloe that crossing paths was 'sweet serendipity' and they should 'meet up again soon.'
Back then an 'insider' confirmed he was 'crushing hard.'
