The Corning girls lacrosse team closed out their regular season with a 9-7 victory over Victor on Monday night. 8th grader Ashlee Volpe tallied a hat trick in the win.

The Corning boys lacrosse team won their 14th straight on Thursday, taking down Ithaca 11-3 in a Section Title rematch. After being tied at 3 at the break, the Hawks outscored Ithaca 8-0 in the second half. Kelly Dupree led the way with 5 goals. 

The Waverly baseball team edged Notre Dame 3 to 1 on Thursday in a tiebreaker for the IAC Division 3. Freshman Caden Hollywood picked up the win and also tallied an RBI. The Wolverines will take on Lansing in the IAC Semi-final at TC3 on Tuesday at 5:00 PM. The winner will face Edison in the IAC Championship. 

The Corning baseball team edged Corning 7-5 on Wednesday.
 

The Corning Softball team topped Elmira 2-0 on Wednesday night. Laura Bennett struck out 11 in the win.

The Elmira Pioneers added 3 local players to their roster on Wednesday. Zac Granger and Keegan Ernest from Horseheads and Alex Bardo from Corning will join the team this summer. 

The Mansfield Destroyers have added 3 players to their roster leading up to their inaugural season. 

The Corning boys lacrosse team rolled Binghamton 26 to 7 on Monday night for their 13th straight win. Brendyn Hogue led the way with 4 goals and 4 assists. 

Horseheads baseball's Mike Limoncelli will undergo Tommy John Surgery after an MRI found a tear in his right elbow. Mike's father, and coach, Jeff Limoncelli tells WENY he is waiting to hear back from renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. James Andrews to set up a date for the surgery. Until that time, Mike has been cleared to play as a DH,

The Ithaca girls lacrosse team edged Corning 11-9 in a rematch of last year's Section IV Class A title game on Friday night. The Little Red move to 12 and 1 on the season with their 2nd win over the Hawks this season. 

Horseheads honored the 1999 State Championship baseball team on Friday, 20 years after the only state championship in the district's history. 

The Horseheads boys lacrosse team picked up a big 15-10 win over Ithaca on Thursday. Parker Winkky-Wade and Gavin Elston each scored 6 goals. 

The Corning boys lacrosse team edged Chenango Forks 9-8 to win their 12th straight on Thursday night.

Edison Softball's star pitcher Bella Willsey made her college decision official on Thursday, committing to Keuka College. Willsey's Coach Liz Warren also played college ball at Keuka. 

2 Pioneers will return to Elmira for the upcoming season. Corning Native Trevor Henneman will come back for his second season with the team. Pitcher Chase Austin, from Tioga, PA, will return for his third season. 

Corning track and cross country star John Cleary has committed to continue his career at Cornell University. 

The Corning girls lacrosse team took down Horseheads 20-9 on Tuesday night to improve to 10 and 2 on the season. Riley Olmstead tallied 6 goals on the night. As a silver lining for the Blue Raiders, midfielder Avery Snyder scored her 100th career goal in the loss.

Elmira, N.Y. (WENY) - It was a controversial weekend for the Elmira Enforcers in North Carolina for the Commissioners Cup Final. (WENY) - The Elmira Enforcers were victorious in the franchise's first playoff game, topping the Watertown Wolves 5-4 on the road in Game 1 of the 3 game series.  With the game tied at 4, Sean Reynolds scored with 44 seconds in what turned out to be the game winning goal. (WENY) - First Arena will host a very special event this Saturday, when skaters take the ice for the 15th annual JDRF Hockey Tournament.  The event raises money for Type 1 Diabetes research, and will go from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Elmira, N.Y. (WENY) - A new hockey team is coming to Elmira. The Binghamton Junior Senators, a Junior A Hockey Club, will rebrand as the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles. The Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles will practice and play their games at the Murray Athletic Center. The team will compete out of the Northern American 3 Hockey League after spending 4 seasons in Binghamton.
