The charity event was co-hosted by Maria and her brother, intellectual disabilities activist Anthony Shriver, 53.

Leading the way: The event, which was co-hosted by Maria and her brother Anthony, benefitted her Women's Alzheimer's Movement charity and his Best Buddies organization for people with intellectual disabilities
Beyond just being a celebration of Mother's Day, the event raised money for Anthony's Best Buddies organization, which helps pair individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with friends and mentors.
Maria's own charity, the Women's Alzheimer's Movement, shared in the proceeds from the brunch, with tickets costing $500 for adult attendees and $50 for children.
