The Duke of Cambridge will not attend Lady Gabriella's wedding in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday as he will be at the FA Cup Final.

Lady Gabriella Windsor, 38, will marry Thomas Kingston on Saturday, in what's set to be the third royal wedding in the 15th-century St George Chapel in less than a year.

She is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, who is the Queen's cousin, and is 52nd in line to the throne.

As president of the FA, Prince William will attend the FA Cup Final instead, with Manchester City playing Watford at Wembley stadium.

While there's no word on whether his wife Kate will attend solo, it's likely that her sister Pippa will be in attendance as she's a close friend of the groom.

It follows the star-studded nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last May and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October.

The event will not attract worldwide press attention on the scale of Harry and Meghan and Eugenie’s weddings.

While Buckingham Palace recently announced that the Queen will be in attendance, an announcement issued by Kensington Palace's Twitter account indicated that William will not be there.

It read: 'The Duke of Cambridge, President of the FA, will attend the 2019 FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Watford at Wembley Stadium, and will present the trophy to the winners.'

Although the game is a regular event for William, he did not attend last year, as he was as best man to younger brother, Prince Harry, at his wedding to Meghan.
